Hennessey Straps Stock 2024 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition To The Dyno: Video

The 2024 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition is one very gnarly machine, rocking 650 ponies right out of the box thanks to its supercharged V8 engine. That said, the folks at Hennessey Performance Engineering have built a reputation for making fast cars faster, and to that end, the performance company is now poised to give one ZL1 Garage 56 Edition the full 1,000-horsepower Exorcist upgrade. However, before the upgrades can begin, Hennessey is strapping the factory-stock vehicle to the dyno to see what it’ll do.

For those readers who may not know, the 2024 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition gives a nod to the NASCAR Garage 56 Camaro that made history at the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race last year, and to that end, it’s equipped with a wealth of race-inspired aesthetic upgrades, including front dive planes, a front splitter, a rear wicker bill spoiler, 20-inch wheels, new badging, and special decals.

The engine spec is identical to that of the standard ZL1, which means you’ll find the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 under the hood. GM rates output at 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, with the GM six-speed manual transmission sending it all to the rear wheels.

Strapped down on the dyno, this 2024 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition churns out a maximum of 579 horsepower at 6,240 rpm and 595 pound-feet of torque at 3,230 rpm. Check out the dyno run in the video below:

Looking ahead, Hennessey Performance will upgrade this machine with its Exorcist package, which adds in a new high-flow supercharger, high-flow air induction system, new fueling, ported heads, a custom cam, and a new valvetrain. Putting it all together, the Exorcist package should bump the output to an impressive 1,000 horsepower and 966 pound-feet of torque, dropping the 0-to-60 mph time to 2.1 seconds and cutting the quarter mile time to 9.57 seconds.

Notably, a bone stock 2024 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition recently sold at auction for a whopping $260,000.

  1. There has been more Camaro coverage on this website the past year then the following 14 years since the Camaro was reintroduced! If Mary and GM would have marketed this car better and gave it a few upgrades here and there. Who knows how many more they could have sold

    1. Should have kept the Camaro going longer. Sad to see it go.

    2. Exactly!

Chevrolet’s heritage from the beginning, is based on performance and racing, and sponsors more types of racing than any other manufacturer, yet it seems to be dodge that advertises performance of its vehicles to the public.

There are 10s of millions of loyal Chevrolet followers who show up at the race tracks every week cheering on their Chevy favorites, yet not even a dime was spent on tv advertising of the performance and capabilities of the Camaro or corvette

    1. I bet you can do better out of your moms garage. Obviously his rep is just fine or there wouldn’t be an article about them. Tell you what post pics and stats of your builds over the last 10 years and let everyone compare. Guarantee you can’t touch him/them. GTFOH

  5. Too much bad reviews on hennessy, they say that they will honor a 3yr 36,000 warranty only on what they replace or touch, then the manufacture say that the modifications cause the damage to the other parts so your screwed either way,
