Some units of the 2023 Chevy Corvette did not receive the carbon fiber back body opening side filler, or closeout panel, they were supposed to include. The General has now issued a Customer Satisfaction Program to deal with this issue.
The Customer Satisfaction Program is tagged with reference number N232428090 and was released in February of 2024. The program only affects Chevy Corvette units produced for the 2023 model year and is in effect until March 31st, 2026. According to GM, approximately 141 Corvette units are affected by this issue in the U.S.
The Back Body Opening Side Filler is an aesthetic component that comes in pairs, with one filler panel installed on each side of the vehicle. Dealers are instructed to install the missing filler panels on affected Chevy Corvette units. GM estimates that the task can be completed in approximately 18 minutes by dealership service personnel.
The Side Filler panels are intended to “help define the appearance” of the rear body panels on the Vette units on which they are installed. The panels are made of carbon fiber with an exposed carbon fiber pattern and weigh less than half a pound each. The panels are covered by a limited lifetime warranty.
As a reminder, the 2023 model year debuted the Chevy Corvette C8 Z06 variant as the range-topping high performance model of the Vette lineup. The Z06 continued on as part of the sports car series in 2024 as well, with both model years motivated by the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine. This powerplant cranks out a maximum of 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and redlines at a whopping 8,600 rpm.
Meanwhile, the “entry-level” slot among the car’s variants for the 2023 model year is the Corvette C8 Stingray, using the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine rated at 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque for propulsion.
Under the skin, all variants of the Corvette use the Y2 platform as their architecture. Production takes place at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

Trying to figure out where this is exactly on the vehicle. Is this for both Stingray and Z06? Coupe and HTC?
After going to Chevrolett Forum, they required my card infi for a $1.00 charge. I entered everything and my banked reported possible fraud. They had recieved a $43.00 charge. I reported it as fraud to stop payment. GM should look into this problem under their name.
I picture of the missing part would be nice…
Its nice they made zero effort to show exactly where these items are…. way to phone it in guys
I saw somewhere that this is for coupe only. It would have been nice if they gave more information on model and location.
Because the only photos shown here are Z06 I would hazard a guess that this pertains them alone ?
Items are the engine appearance pkg option….Need to check your moneray (sp) sticker and the bill of sale to see it should be on the car..
How did the cars pass final inspection with missing parts?
While GM Authority is usually pretty clear on details, this article contains no specifics on exactly where this part is located, whether it was optional or not or even why it was missing on some cars. I have a 23 LT2 and I did not order any specific carbon fibre package so I’m going to guess this doesn’t apply to my car (whatever it is).
Pretty funny to address this issue with a “customer satisfaction program”. One would think that delivering the complete vehicle would be a solid first step for a satisfied customer.
FWIW, I posted earlier that for those unable to access the GM SI document 5364006 that details the location of the panels in question, search 2023 corvette back body filler panel.
View the result, missing part is ….
My previous post was deleted, guess no one likes competition .
Anyone have any idea what part this is and where it’s located?
Please see the feb 26th article from the Corvetteblogger for those still uncertain about this missing engine appearance pkg part…..hope this helps
