Following the official launch of the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 in Brazil in mid-November, Chevrolet‘s iconic full-size pickup has become the segment’s sales leader in the South American country.
The light-duty 2024 Chevy Silverado went on sale in Brazil last December and immediately became a sales success, leading deliveries in the burgeoning high-end full-size pickup segment of the Brazilian automotive market. The Silverado was officially reintroduced in the country after two decades of absence to strengthen the brand’s local truck line consisting of the Chevy Montana and the Chevy S10.
As GM Authority exclusively covered with the December 2023 Chevrolet Brazil Sales report, General Motors recorded the first 295 Chevy Silverado units sold in Brazil during the final month of last year – when the Chevy truck finished as the segment leader. The initial volume of the Silverado in its first month of sales exceeded the Ram 1500’s 279 deliveries (including the Classic model) and the Ford F-150’s 44 units in December.
However, the commercial success of the Chevy Silverado in Brazil intensified in January with a total of 437 units sold, which once again made it the best-selling model in the light-duty full-size truck segment. As such, the pickup prevailed against the combined 344 units of the Ram 1500 range and 18 deliveries of the Ford F-150 in the Brazilian market during the first month of the calendar year.
Notably, the fourth-generation Chevy Silverado 1500 arrives in Brazil imported from the GM Fort Wayne plant in the United States with a single range-topping configuration exclusive to that country. It corresponds to the High Country trim level in the Crew Cab Short Bed body with the 5.3L V8 L84 engine and exclusive touches such as a new wheel design, in addition to the larger rearview mirrors of the Chevy Silverado HD to comply with local legislation.
The 2024 Chevy Silverado High Country has been on sale in Brazil for two full months and is available in the brand’s extensive network of official dealers in that country, which has the largest automotive market in the southern part of the continent and all of Latin America. As the flagship of the truck range and the entire Chevrolet lineup, the Silverado plays a fundamental and highly strategic role in elevating the brand’s image in Brazil.
