As the first mass-produced mid-engined Vette ever, the C8 Corvette has been lauded by many folks for some time now. In fact, Consumer Reports itself appears to admire the performance machine greatly, while the Vette was repeatedly listed as the most satisfying vehicle to own by the publication’s members. Now, the Chevy Corvette once again ranks first among the cars people love the most.
According to a report from Consumer Reports, the C8 Corvette boasted a score of 93/100, which beats out the likes of the Rivian R1T, Mazda MX-5 Miata, and Lexus NX Plug-In Hybrid with scores of 88/100, 88/100, and 87/100, respectively. Meanwhile, some of the most unsatisfying models to own include the Kia Sorento Hybrid, Nissan Sentra, and Volkswagen Taos, which received scores of 42/100, 39/100 and 38/100, respectively.
To obtain the necessary data for this survey, CR drew on the results of the 2023 Annual Auto Surveys, which included data from owners of more than 330,000 vehicles ranging from model years 2021 to 2023, along with a few 2024 models. The owner satisfaction score is based on the percentage of participants that responded whether or not they would repurchase their vehicle in its current specification.
As a reminder, the Corvette C8 is now offered in a number of distinct flavors, including the C8 Stingray, C8 Z06, and C8 E-Ray. More specifically, the Corvette Stingray is powered by the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine, rated at 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque, while the Corvette Z06 features the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine, rated at 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Finally, the Corvette E-Ray combines the aforementioned LT2 engine with an electric motor on the front axle to bring total output up to 655 horsepower.
In regard to structure, all C8 Chevy Corvette models ride on the GM Y2 platform, while production takes place at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

So with all the annoying issues with the C8 Corvette it still makes Most Satisfying Car according to Consumer Reports. This is a big surprise.
“So with all the annoying issues with the C8 Corvette, it still makes Most Satisfying Car according to Consumer Reports.”?!?!? Sounds like a bad case of envy from where I sit, which is the left seat on a “23 C8 Stingray.. MEOW! Send a saucer of milk to table 5!
I am 55 and it is the most satisfying car I have ever owned and I have owned some good ones. No issues and have had for 3 yrs. Actually, I am going to take her for a very Satisfying drive right now.
When did Corvette become synonymous with the boomers?
Most of our club members would probably qualify as boomers. A Corvette doesn’t make a lot of sense for a couple raising kids, unless you are doing well enough to own a fairly expensive third car along with supporting a growing family. Once the kids are gone from the nest, ownership of a 2-seater works fine. Many of the folks in that demographic are probably going to be boomers or close to it. Our experience is that the C8 seems to be bringing in younger owners which is a good thing.
Why do they need a third car? A second car I understand, but why 3rd. For years people have been using their Corvette as an every day driver.
It no longer turns heads. Perhaps because of its hind quarters.
Frank, I’m guessing you have never owned a Corvette? All of them turn heads.
Mine makes me smile just looking at it in my garage, it truly is satisfying to drive, fits like a glove, response to inputs is instantaneous. Brilliant job GM.
Its an amazing car at a great price
Great car but not really a Great price!
If you check out the competition’s pricing, you might think differently.
Not one of my customers who has actually bought one has complained about the price. Zero, Nada, None
How can it not be a great price. Just think about what u r getting for ur money.
UAW just got a raise. The money has to come from somewhere.
Gang Green. Can’t use them as a daily driver in places like MI. Even the ERay won’t work in the winter. There’s times you wouldn’t even find a Vette under the snow drifts.
Can’t pull your boat in the summer either.
