The sixth-generation Chevy Camaro has officially sunset, with the final unit rolling off the line at GM’s Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan late last year. Although GM has confirmed that a new generation is in development, The General has yet to provide any details on the body style or powertrain it might offer. Odds are the next-gen model will be all-electric. Either way, we’ve already rendered the sixth-generation Chevy Camaro as a sedan, and now, we’re rendering the Chevy Camaro as an SUV.
In total, we have three different Chevy Camaro SUV renderings here – an SS model, a ZL1 model, and finally a Z71 model. Each incorporates the front fascia of the sixth-generation Camaro, while the body style is less like a “traditional” SUV and more like a midsize sedan with a lift.
Our yellow Chevy Camaro SS SUV presents a set of two-tone wheels with a black and silver finish, plus two-tone sideview mirrors that match the yellow body with a black upper portion. Under the wheels, we see a set of big, blocky red brake calipers, while the front end places the SS badging in the corner of the upper air intake, and Bow Tie badging in the middle dividing bar.
Our orange-red Chevy Camaro ZL1 SUV ups the ante with even more performance cues, including a set of multi-spoke allow wheels with a black finish, offsetting the body and complementing the rest of the black trim bits. The hood incorporates a vented portion to further underline the model’s sporting intentions, while black ground effects ring the lower body sections with a new front lip and side skirts. ZL1 badging can be found in the grille, while a spoiler is mounted in the rear.
Finally, we have our white Chevy Camaro Z71 SUV, adding a new entry in Chevy’s off-roader line with big, chunky tires, a front skid plate, a high-clearance front bumper, and red tow hooks. Although the Camaro is not traditionally known as an off-roader, the possible launch of a new utility vehicle body style for the nameplate presents the opportunity all the same.
