Positioned below the Buick Enclave in the Tri-Shield’s model lineup, the Buick Envision sold relativity well throughout the 2023 calendar year. Now, the average transaction price of the Envision rose a little more than four percent over the course of Q4 2023 compared to the same period a year prior.
According to a report from Cox Automotive, the Buick Envision saw a 4.2 percent ATP increase to $41,062, making it the second-most expensive Tri-Shield product behind the Enclave, and the only Buick vehicle to post a gain from Q4 2022 average transaction prices. Meanwhile, sales of the crossover jumped over 23 percent to 9,439 units in Q4 2023, making it the smallest rise in sales of Buick’s four U.S.-market vehicles.
It’s worth noting that sales of the Tri-Shield brand exploded nearly 57 percent to 42,162 units in Q4 2023, while overall General Motors sales increased a scant 0.2 percent to 619,684 units.
As a reminder, the Buick Envision is powered exclusively by the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The GM nine-speed automatic transmission handles the cog swaps and directs the output to the front wheels as standard or all four wheels as an option.
Under the skin, the Envision rides on the GM E2 platform, while production takes place at the GM Jinqiao plant in China.
Of course, the Envision is set to receive a mid-cycle refresh for the 2024 model year. This update to the Tri-Shield brand crossover features revised front and rear fascias that include new lighting treatments, as well as a thoroughly overhauled interior that now boasts an updated gauge cluster, larger center display, new infotainment features, and reworked center stack.
Production of the revised Envision is currently scheduled to kick off in early 2024 at the aforementioned Jinqiao facility. Notably, the Envision’s start of regular production (SORP) date has been delayed numerous times now.
