The 2025 Chevy Trax debuts the second model year for the nameplate’s second generation, ushering in a few important updates and changes over the second-gen’s initial 2024 model year. Now, GM Authority is taking a closer look at the 2025 Chevy Trax with the following pricing breakdown.
Customers interested in purchasing a new 2025 Chevy Trax have a total of five trim levels to choose from, including 1LS, 1RS, 1LT, 2RS, and Activ.
Pricing starts at $21,495 for the 2025 Chevy Trax 1LS, $23,395 for 1RS, $23,595 for 1LT, $25,395 for 2RS, and $25,395 for Activ. All prices listed here include destination freight charge (DFC), which is set at $1,095. Front-wheel drive is equipped as standard across the line. All-wheel drive is not offered.
Check out the table below for 2025 Chevy Trax starting MSRPs. Prices include DFC:
Trim Level | Drivetrain | 2025 MSRP + DFC |
---|---|---|
1LS | FWD | $21,495 |
1RS | FWD | $23,395 |
1LT | FWD | $23,595 |
2RS | FWD | $25,395 |
Activ | FWD | $25,395 |
Notably, there is a small price increase for some 2025 Chevy Trax trim levels compared to the preceding 2024 model year. Starting prices for the 2025 Trax 1RS and LT are $200 more expensive than equivalent 2024-model-year vehicles, while starting prices for the 2RS and Activ are $400 more expensive than equivalent 2024-model-year vehicles.
GM recently announced that every customer who purchases a new 2025-model-year Buick, Cadillac, Chevy, or GMC vehicle will have access to several popular OnStar features as standard, including Automatic Crash Response, navigation and voice assistance, and remote vehicle commands. The features are included as part of the new OnStar One Essentials package, and are included for eight years with every new vehicle purchase.
As for the mechanical specs, the U.S.-spec 2025 Chevy Trax will feature the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LBP gasoline engine with E85 flex fuel compatibility. Output will be set at 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. The GM VSS-F vehicle set provides the underpinnings, while Trax production takes place at the GM Changwon plant in South Korea.

Activ is the same price as the 2RS. There are typos. Increases seem reasonable (still can advertise that low LS price) but the lack of a power seat availability on the LT kills it for me (not a fan of Activ styling). That and the atrocious rear visibility (a problem with the Envista as well).
Active USED to be the same price, the 2RS will be priced higher in 2025 according to the article. I’d rather see the power seat in the 2RS than the LT, it’s more of an “upper trim” feature than mid-level, unless it was an option. I don’t have an issue with rear visibility in my Trax, although the camera helps. If they’d add the rear seat upper vents I’d be happy (there are vents at the floor level).
A fairly solid product but needs a few changes starting with offering a power seat on the LT and 2RS and the Active trim needs to look more upscale if it’s going to be positioned as the highest trim level. I also think they could find a couple of dollars to pad the door armrest at least on the upper trim levels
According to the new pricing, the Activ is not the top trim, that “distinction” falls upon the 2RS. Activ was never the top trim as the 2RS and Activ were the same price.
Also, the armrests don’t bother me in mine, but my elbows aren’t built out of rice paper….no need for a pillow. I’m talking to you Micah Muzio on KBB.com. LOL
I have a Ford with manual seats. 176k miles over 11 years. Never missed it. Power/ memory seats with multiple drivers is a consideration.
I still think all American vehicles should be built here in the USA and if other countries want one export it to them but again, BUILD IT HERE !! tomg
yeah for $55 an hour, you bet pal
With the way the global markets work that’s just not possible anymore. The reality is that being built in America doesn’t mean the car is better or worse than anyone else (in the 70’s and 80’s it was worse….way worse). I get it, “Murica” but like it or not the U.S. is just one cog in the global economy and we have to be able to compete.
“The cost of labor is generally higher in the US compared to some other countries due to a combination of factors. These factors can include higher living standards, stronger labor unions, stricter labor laws, healthcare and other benefits provided by employers, and a higher minimum wage.” Can’t build a $21K car on $28 per hour wages. Labor costs are the first costs to be reigned in by businesses. It’s the easiest to cut and the easiest to expand, depending on market conditions. Much harder to cut fixed costs, therefore, other lower-cost labor markets must be used to maintain corporate profitability.
I knew it that GM would increase prices on certain models of the Trax. It doesn’t take a psychic much to foretell what GM had/has in mind for 2025 with a hot seller like the Trax. Greed?
Hmmm… It goes on and on! 👎♐
Ford did it with the Bronco, Bronco Sport and Maverick. I don’t know if I would call it greed….now if the dealerships start marking the Trax up by $5K, then yes.
The difference with the maverick it has truck bed and more utility + people love to buy trucks so theirs more appeal their + 2.0 , AWD
In fairness regarding the built in Korea comments, this is nothing new for GM.
Even in 1988 the Pontiac Le Mans was a rebadged Daewoo. And Chevrolet was selling Isuzu pickups as the LUV beginning in 1972.
Hyundais and KIAs are built in South Korea and are constantly among the best in quality, right up there with Toyota.
This one model that won’t change prices very much year to year unless they added 2.0 or AWD. It’s basic car and I don’t see them adding anything to make it ever worth 32k for example . Which is great people should be able to afford A to B car with little thrills ..
WHILE WALKING BACK TO MY HOTEL IN PANAMA, I SAW A RAM 700 MINI PICKUP TRUCK WITH 4 DOORS.
IT WAS TOO DARK TO TAKE A DECENT PICTURE, BUT I WILL TRY TO GRAB ONE OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS.
IT’S NOT TOO FAR FROM MY HOTEL.
