2025 Cadillac Vehicles To Receive OnStar Premium Plan As Standard

GM has announced that all 2025 Cadillac vehicles will include the OnStar Premium Plan as standard in the United States. The premium services will be available for three years, starting from the time of vehicle purchase. The Premium Plan will be included in addition to the OnStar One Essentials plan, the latter of which will be included for eight years.

The OnStar Premium Plan includes a variety of different features and services, such as unlimited in-vehicle data for up to seven connected devices, as well as in-vehicle apps like Spotify, Pandora, and real-time traffic updates. The Premium Plan is usually priced at $49.99 per month, or $549.90 per year.

Most 2024 model-year Cadillac vehicles are currently equipped as standard with the 3 Years of OnStar Remote Access plan (RPO code PRF), which includes features like remote door locking and unlocking, family sharing, roadside assistance, vehicle health update (tire pressure, oil life, fuel level, etc.), infotainment personalization, and mapping, plus Amazon Alexa connected features.

Meanwhile, the 2024 model-year Cadillac Escalade is equipped with the 3 Years of OnStar Premium Plan (RPO code R9M) as standard. Now, however, GM has announced that all 2025-model-year Cadillac models will equip the 3 Years of the Premium Plan as standard.

The standard Premium Plan is in addition to the OnStar One Essentials package, which will be equipped on all GM vehicles (Buick, Cadillac, Chevy, and GMC brands) for the 2025 model year going forward. The Essentials package bundles together several popular features, including Automatic Crash Response, remote vehicle commands, navigation, and voice assistance. The features included with the Essentials package will be available for eight years with every new vehicle purchase at no extra cost. At present, 2024 model-year Chevy, most Buick, most GMC, and most Cadillac vehicles are equipped with the 3 Years of OnStar Remote Access plan (RPO code PRF).

  2. Did the MSRP just increase by $1500 like Buick?

  3. Bull$hit! Wait for another technology change and all those will be left out in the cold just like all the former OnStar subscribers. Don’t believe what they are telling you.

  4. What do you do when you have a product that nobody wants, you make it standard and force them to buy it.

I was pissed when I picked up my Denali two years ago and found out the dealer had activated On Star, after I told him not to. This was the standard system that doesn’t cost anything, and before they made the upgraded program a mandatory option, but I still didn’t want it activated. I went round and round with them over it but it seems that once the system is started it’s just about impossible to cancel it until the subscription runs out.

  5. yes i agree with everybody gm you can keep your onstar after the screwing you did to your customers taking away the phone service and not reimbursing time remaining.

    1. They did send everyone many notices before the actual tech behind the service was discontinued. There was an offer to transfer the remaining minutes into another service, too. Let’s present both sides of the argument…

      1. No Alex, you’re wrong. I got no notification that they were going to discontinue service. They took the money and ran with it used to be a General Motors employee. If they forced that OnStar down my throat, I would not buy the product.

  6. GM is off the rails with this Onstar and “Google Built-in” nonsense.
My 2018 GMC Sierra Denali had built-in Navigation. When I say built in I mean it was built-in and I could use it.
My 2023 Chevrolet Silverado Hi Country also has built in Navigation. The difference is I can not use it unless I pay for an On-Star Subscription or create a Google Account and share my life with the Chinese Communist Party.

This is dangerous and not something that should be allowed, never mind mandated if you want to use the built-in Navigation system on your new $70,000 truck.

  7. I loved Onstar. I prepaid for 5 years on 3 cars. Then they hosed me when they their service procvider did away with 2 or 3 g so all zercice on 3 cars was gone …anx i foufht with them for many months to get a refund and it was a nifhtmare of hours on the phone with countless customer service reps. They couldnot even identify what i had paid them properly. I got back maybe two thirds anx so they stole the rest and no managers ever called me. I finally gave up.
My 13 Malibu did not have nav so Onstar was an easy solution and it worked great, allowing u to talk to a?live person and tell them where u want to go while u r driving. Also the unlock door featured saved me once. But it went away less than 10 years from 13 malibu. THEN they advertise a $99 adaptef that will plug in convert to current g technology and that turned out to be false. What a mess. As car as product quality it was good. Ohh and i even haxto have it with 08 Enclave because GM does not make their mapping company do enough updates. You have to live with sveral year old maping data which in my growing area is always wrong. Onstar data is updated regularly

    1. The new General Motors!
I bought my first brand new car in 1968, Chevy Nova Super Sport, right off the showroom floor. I have had 7 Corvettes 3 Buick Rivieras a Firebird a 2 Camaro’s 2 Buick Regals 2 GMC Sierra’s, and a Grand Prix GTP.
My 2023 Silverado High Country has a beautiful GPS Navigation system in it, but I can’t use it unless I pay for On-Star. GM Customer Care seems to be a thing of the past, and for me GM loyalty will also be a thing of the past if this doesn’t get resolved.
