2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ In Flare Metallic: On The Road Photos

The Cadillac Escalade IQ got its big debut in August of the 2023 calendar year, with GM pulling the sheets on the very first all-electric SUV to wear the iconic Cadillac Escalade nameplate. We got our initial glimpse of the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ out in the real world last year, showing the battery-powered luxury vehicle wearing mottled white paint. Now, we’re once again checking out the Escalade IQ as it plies the public roads, this time dressed in Flare Metallic paint.

This particular Cadillac Escalade IQ is an example of the Sport trim level, with the trim level lineup also including the Luxury trim. The Escalade IQ paint options list offers up a total of 13 exterior color combinations, six of which incorporate a black roof, although this particular example does not include a fully black roof, despite the black finish seen above the windshield. The black roof options are available in conjunction with Flare Metallic, Black Cherry Tintcoat, Deep Space Metallic, Luna Metallic, Midnight Steel Frost, and Summit White body finishes.

Check out our previous coverage for more information on the available Cadillac Escalade IQ exterior paint options. Notably, most GM Authority readers approve of the black roof design, per a GM Authority poll conducted last September.

As for this particular SUV, black trim is found across the body, outlining the light-up grille, underlining the lower body panels, and surrounding the side windows. The sideview mirrors are two-tone, with black upper portions and body-colored stalks. The side badging on the fenders is outlined in black as well.

The wheels present a two-tone finish, matching black with silver in a technical, fan-like design.

Moving around the sides to the rear of the vehicle, we see the black window surrounds extended into the hatch, creating a subtle floating roof design and connecting the tail of the SUV to the profile. Signature vertical lighting adorns the rear end.

As a reminder, the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ features GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium Drive motors, with a 200 kWh battery pack powering front- and rear-mounted motors to produce upwards of 750 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque, providing an estimated 450 miles-per-charge.

Production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan, while the GM BT1 platform provides the underpinnings.

  1. “Droopy” rear end…

    1. I’m still trying to figure out why it’s a positive to have less headroom, cargo capacity, and useful ness, by having a sloping roofline, decreasing outward vision also!

      1. Because all the 70+ year olds think it looks “sporty”.

        1. 70 plus year olds won’t buy an EV Escalade! They will buy ICE.

    2. Ya, kinda like the Range Rover Autobiography. They’re both in need of a butt lift.

  2. I still think it looks like a bloated Lyric. They missed the mark here. But for $150,000 you too can have an incandescent blub behind a yellow side marker. Come on GMA, ask the engineers how they keep overlooking that.

  3. They need the tail lights on the ICE slade. Looks matter on a 150 grand vehicle. I did see a V-slade the other day, well first I heard it rumble, then saw the badging.

  4. Finally a Cadillac derriere that’s stylish and not overly busy. Unfortunately, at this humongous size, EVs are long passed the threshold of diminishing returns. A powerful hybrid, paired with a nice inline 6 (Duramax 3l… cough), and able to go 80-100 miles in pure electric mode, would have been really nice. Not to mention lighter.

Chasing objectively diminishing returns is what luxury is all about, of course.

  5. So, they decided to take their full size luxury SUV and shape it like a giant Honda CR-V, like 90% of the other ugly vehicles on the road? K.

  6. Looks pretty uninteresting in these pics.

  7. Looks awesome. I want one.

  8. But what’s the cargo area behind the front seat? How else to compare with Traverse/Acadia, Grand Highlander/Lexxus 550h+ ??? They have 97 cu. ft. and I’m ready to buy.

  9. I’m a fan but I really don’t like how gms full size ev suvs are really full size crossovers now. Doesn’t sit like a regular ice escalade

  10. I agree with the earlier comments about the exterior design being lame. With that said, the interior is amazing. As well as the executive rear seating option.

  11. That color must be a new name for Rift, that Cadillac was using on V’s.

  12. I’ve been trying to like it since it came out, but I just can’t. The refresh will most likely be the last Escalade we buy.
Cadillac had something special going. Had.

  13. More garbage 🗑 I can’t stand the direction GM is heading. That is not a escalade. It’s a Honda

  14. Unfortunately the styling of vehicles in the last 20 years have only face-lifted in appearance. If you take a Chevy starting in the 1940s it seems that every decade the cars were completely different. This continued for about 60 years. I had a 2007 Escalade ESV and the new ones have more tech and a face lift but the overall shape is basically the same. Like Sting sang, “Packed like lemmings into shiny metal boxes.” We need a severe transition in styling like a ‘55 Bel Air to a ‘66 Chevelle. A decade of radical progression. You could literally take 20 SUVs, park them side by side, remove the manufacturer emblem and most people wouldn’t have a clue which is which, that’s how similar they are.

  15. The fact that this Cadillac is completely hideous goes to show some architect in some far away land, hasn’t had the ability to even achieve a passing grade in 4th grade art class. Not only does it reek of crossover, they decided to put a mentally incompetent electric powered motor in the vehicle for propulsion. GM was good with ICE in their vehicles and a column shifter as well. The 2025 Tahoe has thankfully brought back the column shifter, ( some what ), due to those eyesore push button shifters breaking and pure disgust at that design. I do love my GM vehicles, but this so called “Escalade,” is for the scrap yard and nothing more.
