The 2025 Buick Encore GX debuts a few notable updates and changes over the refreshed 2024 model year, including a new exterior paint color.
The new exterior paint color offered for the 2025 Buick Encore GX is called Aquamarine Blue Metallic, and is tagged with paint code GKN. Aquamarine Blue Metallic will only be available for the 2025 Buick Encore GX Sport Touring (ST) trim level as an extra-cost option. The new hue will not be available for Preferred or Avenir trim levels. Photos of the new color are currently unavailable.
2024 Buick Encore GX in Sunrise Red Metallic
The new Aquamarine Blue Metallic paint option will indirectly replace Sunrise Red Metallic (paint code GMF) in the Buick Encore GX paint color palette. Sunrise Red Metallic was introduced for the 2024 model year, available for the Buick Encore GX Preferred and ST trim levels, but not Avenir. As GM Authority covered last month, Sunrise Red Metallic was recently built out for the 2024 model year.
Notably, the 2025 Buick Encore GX will also offer Copper Ice Metallic (paint code G98) on Preferred and Avenir trims, but not ST. Previously, the 2024 Buick Encore GX offered Copper Ice Metallic paint for Preferred and ST trims, but not Avenir.
Finally, the 2025 Buick Encore GX will offer White Frost Tricoat (paint code G1W) exclusively for the Avenir trim. White Frost Tricoat paint was previously available across the trim level lineup for the 2024 model year.

In addition to the changes to the paint color lineup outlined above, the 2025 Buick Encore GX will equip a new E85-compatible engine. The new E85-compatible turbocharged 1.2L I3 LBP engine will offer the same horsepower and torque figures as the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine offered previously, doling out a maximum of 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque.
Under the skin, the Buick Encore GX rides on the GM VSS-F vehicle set. Production takes place at the GM Bupyeong plant in South Korea.

It’s called Marina BLUE Metallic. I can’t wait to see it, because it’s also on the TB, Trax and Envista. Better not be a pale light. Who wanted a screaming red Encore GX? That was plain stupid.
Who cares about paint….the engines are garbage….I got a 1.4 turbo…. I’m dumping stupid money into rite now .. because turbo bad …rings are bad. Timing guides fell apart
The new logo needs the silver circle around it. Looks so much better on the wheels than it does without the circle everywhere else on the car.
