2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Dynamic Blue Metallic Paint Built Out For Model Year

The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 ushers in a few updates and changes over the preceding 2023 model year, debuting the sixth model year for the light-duty pickup’s fourth generation. Now, GM Authority has learned that the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 is no longer available to order in Dynamic Blue Metallic paint (paint code GLT). Dynamic Blue Metallic paint will be built out after the week of February 26th, 2024. It’s currently unclear if the Dynamic Blue will return for the 2025 model year, or if it will be replaced by another blue color. To note, Dynamic Blue Metallic paint has also been built out for the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500.

Dynamic Blue Metallic was initially added to the GMC Sierra 1500 paint options list in conjunction with the refreshed 2022 model year, as GM Authority covered previously. It’s also one of 11 different exterior paint colors previously offered for the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. The rest of the paint options lineup includes (relevant paint codes listed in parentheses):

  • Cardinal Red (G7C)
  • Deep Bronze Metallic (GXN)
  • Downpour Metallic (GXP)
  • Onyx Black (GBA)
  • Sterling Metallic (GXD)
  • Summit White (GAZ)
  • Thunderstorm Gray (GNO)
  • Titanium Rush Metallic (G6M)
  • Volcanic Red Tintcoat (GNT)
  • White Frost Tricoat (G1W)

Dynamic Blue Metallic was previously offered for Pro, SLE, Elevation, AT4, and AT4X trim levels for an extra $495. Every paint option in the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 paint palette includes an added cost ranging between $495 and $1,095, with the exception of Summit White, which is offered as the exclusive no-cost option.

As for what’s under the skin, the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 offers four different engine options, including the 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline TurboMax engine, the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, and finally, the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine. The LZ0 diesel engine is now equipped as standard on the 2024 GMC Sierra AT4X.

The GM T1 platform provides the underpinnings, while production takes place at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana, and the GM Silao plant in Mexico.

  1. I don’t get it – I really don’t. Why would you do that?? When I ordered my 2020 Suburban in January 2020, blue, red, silver, and the purple colors were not available. And, why make it an extra pay option for every color except white, why not just simply include the price of the color with the vehicle?? Just doesn’t make sense.

    1. Simply put, the paint costs more as there’s metal flake and “ingredients” that differ. It’s really not as basic as white.

My ’23 Sierra Elevation is also Dynamic Blue Metallic at $495 CAD extra. That’s relatively “nothing” on the purchase price of the new truck.

Where it will really be evident is if repainting the entire vehicle.

FWIW, it took 5 months to get touch-up paint, which is actually Pow Zinga-1 Met.

  2. GM has problems. Six more months of building 24’s and they’re already out of 3 different paint colors? They do some really stupid things.

  3. It was a great color. But, how do you run out of blue paint? No Sherwin-Williams or Pittsburgh Paint stores in Michigan?

  4. Corporate stupidity is alive and well. Just about every ad and video, commercial showed GM’s trucks in this color. It was a very nice color blue. So what does GM do? They get rid of it. Can’t fix stupid.
