Assigned color code GJV and touch-up paint code WA-121J, Riptide Blue Metallic is one of eight exterior paint colors offered for the 2024 Chevy Equinox, with the complete palette consisting of the following tints:

  • Harvest Bronze Metallic
  • Iridescent Pearl Tricoat
  • Mosaic Black Metallic
  • Radiant Red Tintcoat
  • Sterling Gray Metallic

  • Jet Black, Premium Cloth (LT)

As a reminder, the 2024 Equinox continues to be powered by the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine. Introduced new for 2023 and offered as the only available powerplant, the LSD is rated at 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. This gasoline engine replaced the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LYX gasoline engine that previously motivated the crossover. Cog swaps are provided by the GM six-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle offers both FWD and AWD configurations.

The GM D2 platform provides the bones for the 2024 Equinox under the body panels. Production of the third-generation Equinox’s final model year will end at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in April 2024, and at the GM San Luis Potosí plant in October 2024. The fourth generation of the crossover will soon launch with the arrival of the 2025 Chevy Equinox.

  1. I like the blue but it would look much better with bright wheels.

    1. The vehicle shown is the RS trim package & those are the 19″ Aluminum Dark Android wheels which are standard with the RS trim. Chose a different trim level & you get 17″ aluminum wheels.

  2. Aren’t you guys a little late with this story? I was looking at 2024 Chevrolet Equinox’s an GMC Terrain’s back in December and they both had the Riptide Blue and Lakeshore Blue vehicles sitting on the lots. I ended up buying a Terrain in Riptide Blue. My only problem is Riptide Blue touch up paint isn’t yet available at the GM parts department.

    1. TouchUpDirect claims to have an exact match for the GJV Chevy paint code, tho I can’t personally vouch

  3. Don’t worry about paint! It took me at least 6 weeks last year to get a bottle of Red Tint Coat for my 2023 NOX. It was over $30.00 and didn’t match very well.
PPPPP! That’s prior planning precludes pretty poor performance!
Good enough is our new way of doing things!

  4. Buyer beware! Although the Lakeshore Blue Metallic looks good online, in real life it’s actually quite lighter in colour. I ordered this colour for my 2024 Silverado, and was surprised to see how much lighter it was. GM should have colour chips at the dealer level so customers can see the real shade.

  5. I agree in real life it looks a little lighter- but to me much better.
What is the interior shot a photo of ? Not the 2024 Equinox (which from what I’ve seen is exactly like the 2023).
