2024 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition Sells For $260K At Auction

This 2024 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition sold for $260,000 at auction over the weekend. Not only is this limited-run Camaro one of just 56 units produced, it’s also quite possibly one of the very last ICE-powered Camaros ever made following the discontinuation of the nameplate’s sixth-generation. The vehicle sticker price is listed at $89,185.

After securing the winning bid, the buyer expressed gratitude that they would soon add the special edition Chevy Camaro to their collection.

“Sometimes it’s just a question of how badly someone wants it,” the buyer commented. “In my case I felt this was a rare opportunity to own one so I could pair it up with a recently purchased Panther edition convertible. Was it a high price? Yes, but I have it now. But what I was surprised at was all the positive feedback and congratulations that was commented.”

The buyer said it was “refreshing” to read the feedback, and expressed thanks to those who sent positive comments, also adding that they realize “this is stupid money,” but stated they hope the price remains at least close to what they paid when it comes to resale.

This 2024 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Garage 56 Edition was posted for sale on Bring A Trailer by Blasius Chevy Cadillac in Connecticut, and shows a mere 16 miles on the odometer. The Garage 56 Edition spec includes badging from NASCAR, Hendrick Motorsports, and Garage 56, giving a nod to the Garage 56 Chevy Camaro that competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race last June. The exterior also includes front dive planes, a front splitter, a rear wicker bill spoiler, and 20-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels.

Under the hood, you’ll find the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine, which pumps out 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels through the GM six-speed manual transmission. Magnetic Ride Control and Brembo brakes help it handle.

The GM Alpha platform provides the underpinnings, while production took place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

  1. I wish I had that kind of money to blow and not care how much I spend!

  2. Ah yes one of the last Camaros. Yet again. Another outstanding decision by GM eliminating one of the best performance cars (Gen 6 Camaro) they ever built.

Not trying to be the naysayer here but cancelling the Gen 6 Camaro without a better ICE replacement at this stage of vehicle electrification is just not passing the sanity check. Maybe I’m wrong but I have to believe a 100% electric Camaro has a ways to go. Maybe a hybrid like the E-Ray? Unclear.

But no worries folks. it’s all good with the Gov’t handing off billions of taxpayer dollars to auto companies to develop electric vehicle technology. Nuts!
