2024 Buick Envista Sunrise Red Metallic Paint Built Out For Model Year

GM unveiled the U.S.-spec 2024 Buick Envista back in April of 2023, showing off the Tri-Shield brand’s new, affordable, small, premium crossover. A launch, the 2024 Buick Envista offered customers eight exterior paint colors. Now, however, GM Authority has learned that one of those exterior colors is built out for the remainder of the 2024 model year.

According to sources familiar with the matter, Sunrise Red Metallic (paint code GMF) is no longer available to order for the 2024 Buick Envista. The paint option has been built out for the remainder of 2024 model-year production.

Sunrise Red Metallic was previously available for the 2024 Buick Envista Preferred and Sport Touring (ST) trim levels for an extra $495. Sunrise Red Metallic was not offered for the Avenir trim level.

Notably, Sunrise Red Metallic was also built out for the 2024 Buick Encore GX, as GM Authority covered previously. The 2024 Buick Envista and 2024 Buick Encore GX are both produced at the GM Bupyeong plant in South Korea, which supplies units to the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Both models offer identical exterior paint options.

The exterior paint option list for the 2024 Buick Envista (including the recently built-out Sunrise Red Metallic) is as follows (relevant paint code and availability listed in parentheses):

  • Cinnabar Metallic (GFM)
  • Copper Ice Metallic (G98) (not available on Avenir)
  • Ebony Twilight Metallic (GB0)
  • Moonstone Gray Metallic (GZB)
  • Ocean Blue Metallic (GK9)
  • Summit White (GAZ) (not available on Avenir)
  • Sunrise Red Metallic (GMF) (not available on Avenir)
  • White Frost Tricoat (GP5)

As for what’s under the skin, the 2024 Buick Envista rides on the GM VSS-F vehicle set, while motivation is derived from the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine, rated at 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. Output is routed to the front wheels by way of the GM six-speed automatic transmission.

  1. Ran out of red paint already? How stupid is that? Those supply chain guys still need to be replaced!

  2. It is unacceptable for a brand to have a paint upcharge for EVERY paint color other than basic white. Just screams “gouge”.

    1. I work for a PPG automotive paint distributor, and have priced out paint colours to see where they fall. Some colours they charge more for actually have a lower cost to mix. Unless the painting process is more labour intensive, yes we are being gouged.

  3. Buick Envista? Never heard of it? What does it compare to in the Chevorlet line? Is it also made in China?

    1. It’s new to the US for the 2024 model year and is the Buick equivalent to the Chevy Trax. Like the Trax, it’s made in South Korea.
