General Motors has released a preliminary information bulletin indicating that a software update may be necessary for some units of the 2024 Buick Encore GX and 2024 Buick Envista to address an issue with one of the vehicles’ heated seat functions.
According to Preliminary Information Bulletin PIT6117, owners of the 2024 Buick Encore GX and 2024 Buick Envista may notice that the heated seats do not automatically turn on when the vehicle is started in cold temperatures using the remote start feature. Additionally, technicians may find that the option to enable the heated seats is missing from the remote engine start personalization menu. This may be caused by a software issue.
GM is aware of the problem and is actively working on a fix, which will entail updating the infotainment software. In the meantime, dealers are instructed to avoid trying to fix the infotainment system.
As a reminder, for the 2024 Buick Encore GX, heated front seats (RPO code KA1) and remote start (RPO code BTV) are part of the optional Comfort Package (RPO code Y55) on the Preferred and Sport Touring trims, while both features are standard on Avenir.
Meanwhile, on the 2024 Buick Envista, heated front seats and remote start are included in the optional Convenience I Package (RPO code ZL4), which is offered on Preferred and Sport Touring variants. Both features are standard for the Avenir trim.
To note, the 2024 Chevy Trax and 2024 Chevy Trailblazer may also be affected by the aforementioned heated seat issue.
The all-new Buick Envista was unveiled back in April 2024, developed to attract a younger demographic to the Buick brand, and the luxury crossover is doing just that. Meanwhile, the Encore GX received a refresh for the 2024 model year, boasting a revised exterior design, an updated interior space, and the new Avenir trim level.

Again dependability issues because everything has to run through software/computer system. We need to go back to old school button and switches. Something goes wrong u pop in a new switch, buttons that u can do you can change yourself. Today’s cars are overly complicated for no reason or is it to get service departments extra work $
We need the 2005 LeSabre back. All the foreign built new Buicks are crap! Buicks built in China will never be in my garage, and especially one with only 1.2 liters of lawn mower engine. Just remember, Buicks once had enough power to make Hemi owners feel threatened!
