The 2025 Chevy Trax for the Canadian market will now get more standard features for the base LS trim compared to the same trim level of the 2024 Chevy Trax, GM Authority has learned, with a previously optional package now included as standard.
As a downstream effect of this, some previously standard features of the compact crossover utility vehicle will no longer be offered on the 2025 Chevy Trax since they are superseded by features in the package.
Specifically, the 2025 Chevy Trax LS trim will now be equipped as standard with the LS Convenience Package (RPO code ZFT). This package was offered as an $895 option on the 2024 Trax and rounds up the following elements (RPO codes in parentheses):
- Remote Start (BTV)
- Carpeted rear floor mats (B35)
- Outside heated power-adjustable mirrors (DLF)
- Body-color mirror caps (DP6)
- 17-inch Silver-painted aluminum wheels (RSE)
As a result, the Canadian 2025 model-year Trax no longer offers the non-heated outside power-adjustable mirrors (RPO code DWV)and the 17-inch steel wheels with covers (RPO code PWP).
With an all-new second generation of the compact crossover launching for the 2024 model year, the 2025 Chevy Trax introduces only a handful of changes and updates. Among these, two new exterior paint colors are added to its color palette, Cypress Gray (paint code GBD) and Marina Blue Metallic (paint code GKN).
Meanwhile, four colors will be dropped from the 2025 model’s paint lineup, including Blue Glow Metallic (GGK), Cayenne Orange Metallic (GFQ), Fountain Blue (GLN) and Harvest Bronze Metallic (GZF). These four colors were built out early for the 2024 Chevy Trax as well, becoming unavailable to order by the middle of December 2023.
Ordering for the 2025 Chevy Trax is expected to start this month, January 2024, with dealerships able to submit orders first. Meanwhile, the start of regular production (SORP) for the 2025 Chevy Trax is set to kick off on March 4th, 2024 at the GM Changwon plant in South Korea. Production shifted there from the GM Bupyeong plant in the same country with the launch of the second generation.
As a reminder, motivation is supplied to the Canadian-market 2025 Trax by the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine developing 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the U.S.-market Trax receives the E85-capable turbocharged 1.2L I3 LBP engine for the model year.
Cog swaps are provided by the GM six-speed automatic transmission, and the only drivetrain offered is FWD. Under the body panels the 2025 Chevy Trax rides on the GM VSS-F vehicle set.

Why? It effectively raises the price…but…why Canada?
Because from 2024 Trax purchases they found Canadians bought these options. US customers are going to get a McDonald’s app as standard.
I don’t think the price changes much, at least when you “Build & Price” one. The starting price for an LS without the convenience package is $24,530, add the package and it goes to $25,425. Starting price of a 2025 is $25,031 and that comes WITH the LS convenience package. So it’s technically more stuff for fewer Loons.
How about a Burger King 👑 app Mick1 or Wendy’s! Lol 😆
