General Motors has issued a service update for certain units of the GMC Sierra and GMC Savana over concerns with a fuel pump module.
According to Service Update N232425850, select 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 and 2023 GMC Savana units may have a condition where the fuel tank fuel pump module manifold connector is not completely clipped to the fuel pump housing. If this were to be the case, certified GM technicians are to replace the fuel tank fuel pump module, which should take a little less than three hours to perform.
It’s worth noting that there are only 41 units affected by the Service Update, which covers the Sierra and the Savana, but also the Chevy Silverado and the Chevy Express.
As a reminder, the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 is available with a plethora of powerplants choices, including the TurboMax turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, rated at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine, rated at 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.
Meanwhile, the 2023 GMC Savana is offered with the option of either the naturally aspirated 4.3L V6 LV1 gasoline engine, rated at 276 horsepower and 298 pound-feet of torque, or the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque.
In regard to structure, the Sierra rides on the GM T1 platform – which it shares with the Chevy Silverado. Meanwhile, production takes place at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana and the GM Silao plant in Mexico.
As for the Savana van, it lies on the GMT 610 platform, shared with the Chevy Express, while production takes place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri. Notably, the Savana Cutaway is also produced by Navistar at a separate facility in Ohio.

You can get the van with a 6.6L?
That’s pretty awesome.
That’s what they say. I’ve been trying to get a 6.6 in a van for 3 years. Come on GM, let’s get back to building the best vehicles in all the GM lines. The simple basic do anything full size van. Give us truck based 4X4 and it would be the best all around vehicle ever. We’re all rooting for you. You can do it.
