General Motors has released a service update for select units of the Chevy Silverado and Chevy Express over concerns with a fuel pump module.
According to bulletin N232425850, certain 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 and 2023 Chevy Express units may have a condition where the fuel tank fuel pump module manifold connector is not completely clipped to the fuel pump housing. If this were to be the case, certified GM technicians are to replace the fuel tank fuel pump module, which should take a little less than three hours to perform.
It’s worth noting that there are only 41 units affected by the service update which covers the Silverado 1500 and Express, but also the GMC Sierra 1500 and GMC Savana..
As a reminder, the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 is available with a bevy of engine options, including the TurboMax turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, rated at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine, rated at 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.
Meanwhile, the 2023 Chevy Express is offered with the choice of either the naturally aspirated 4.3L V6 LV1 gasoline engine, rated at 276 horsepower and 298 pound-feet of torque, or the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque.
Under the skin, the Silverado rides on the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana, the GM Oshawa plant in Canada, and the GM Silao plant in Mexico.
The Express van lies on the GMT 610 platform. Production takes place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri. Notably, the Express Cutaway is also produced by Navistar at a separate facility in Ohio.
