Poll: Is The 2025 Cadillac XT5 Hot, Or Not?

The second-generation Cadillac XT5 is just over the horizon, and while GM currently plans to offer it exclusively for the Chinese market, The General is considering a possible business opportunity to offer the next-gen crossover in North America as well. Either way, photos of the next-gen XT5’s exterior recently leaked online, giving us a clear look at the overhauled exterior. Which leads to ask – is the 2025 Cadillac XT5 hot, or not?

Design details for the 2025 Cadillac XT5.

While the upcoming 2025 Cadillac XT5 will introduce an overhauled cabin in addition to a new exterior, we’re focusing on the new exterior for the moment. The overhaul starts up front, where we see a broad, reshaped grille section flanked by revised headlights, the latter of which incorporate a thin upper lighting signature and rectangular lower lights set vertically on either side of the fascia. The two lighting sections are separated by a thin body-colored strip. The lower air intake stretches across the nose, flaring outward at the edges towards the wheels.

Speaking of the rollers, the latest 2025 Cadillac XT5 photos reveal a few different wheel sets and finishes, while between the wheels, we see some black cladding running around the perimeter of the entire vehicle. The window trim is underlined in bright trim work with black upper trim, while both body-colored and black sideview mirror housings are offered. The roof rails are available in both silver and black as well

Viewed from the rear, the 2025 Cadillac XT5 shows us revised taillight housings, with flat, straight lines similar to those seen in the headlight housings up front. A broad piece of trim run across the width of the hatch, while lower in the body, we see a reworked lower fascia and integrated exhaust treatment.

So then, dear reader, we want to know – is the 2025 Cadillac XT5 hot, or not? Tell us by voting in the poll below, and don’t forget to subscribe to GM Authority for more Cadillac XT5 news, Cadillac news, and around-the-clock GM news coverage.

  1. I would need to see the interior to answer that.

    1. Probably will just be the same as the XT4’s

    2. Looks like the trailblazer. Doesn’t anybody have new designe ideas. All the sun’s look the same. I think we’re looking at what use Tobe station wagons. Shorter and taller. This one at first glance I thought it was a dodge Pacifica.

      1. I find all Cadillacs of today, are poor representations of what Cadillac used to be, inside and out! Now as far as the new styling goes, from rear view, it looks as though the cabin space is narrower than the inside wheel width. Seems more like a sardine can, than a spacious interior, with poor styling.

    1. I have an XT5 now but if they are going to be built in China, they can forget about having me for a customer. Build it in North America or not at all !!

    2. We need the XT5 in the USA! NOT super great ,so close to the 24 . Let’s see the interior.

  7. Forgettable crossover with idiotic, oversized rims. No thanks.

  8. i agree the lyriq is beautiful just not reliable, that new xt5 is like the last one , no WOW factor , as mentioned the interior better be amazing

  9. Better looking rear. No ugly boat tail like on the Lyriq. Cadillac needs to bring this over NOW!

  10. It’s definitely better than the 8 year old design it replaces, however, I kinda expected a bit more refining to the exterior as it looks too similar to the XT4 again and still shows a dated style to the now defuncted CT6.

If the idea is to be “Iconiq” … perhaps a more “Bolder” approach was needed here? Can’t wait to see the same look on the upcoming XT6 refit due out in 2025-26.

  11. If this were available here in the USA, I would buy it over the XT4!

  12. I own a current XT5 and want to buy a new one so I hope this new version goes in to production soon.

  13. Is this going to be sold in the US or is it another China only Cadillac? I am so tired of China getting all the nice cars and we get stuck with the leftovers.
For example: I would LOVE to trade my CTS for a new CT6..China ONLY though! The nicely styled GT4, China only!
Bring these vehicles here please…We want newly styled ICE vehicles!
GM, you are forcing many of us to Lexus for our ICE vehicles with style

  14. Every time I read this forum, there is something going to the Chinese market that is better than the American market. I have been a GM person all my car buying life. I will be 78 in February. I wanted the XT6, but you put in in the Chinese market only. Bought the 2021 XT5 which is not to my liking at all. My 2008 HHR rides better and is much more quieter. I’m leaving GM for awhile and looking overseas for my next car.

    1. Did you mean CT6 was what you wanted? The XT6 has been and is available in the US.

    2. I meant to say CT6 instead of XT6.

  15. Tweak it a little and build it in Tennessee.
Keep the V-6. Forget any electric EV.

    1. It’s built in Spring Hill, TN

    2. Would never buy one if it was made other than USA! GM builds too many vehicles overseas to save money on Labor. What a disgrace!

      Reply
  16. Why do you even bother asking because from what I’ve read you haven’t even told us if you’ll be offering this to U.S. buyers. How about stop being wishey washey and make an announcement one way or the other. I for one am trying to make plans for my next purchase. C’mon GM, announce already!

  17. I love it ! When you bring them to US I will be purchasing one !

  18. The important thing … it still has the eye-catching, cheesy, Mack Truck vertical marker lights .

  19. My two complaints:

It looks too much like the XT6 & XT4. I appreciate a common “design language”, but this feels dated even though it is the latest and greatest.

The overall look feels “portly” and not as athletic as I would hope for.

If it is reintroduced to the US, it will be critical to have all of the latest tech in this vehicle. Please bring back pausing live radio.

  20. Change head, tail lights and Cadillac emblems to Trailblazer and this Cadillac looks like my 2023 Trailblazer on outside. Hopefully interior is more upscale than that of my Chevy.

  21. I had two XT5s and loved them both, but recently traded up to an XT6…so far I love it even more!
The XT5 is a great SUV and the 2025 model looks like a great improvement.

  27. It’s a crossover, looks like every other crossover, and is driven mainly by old women. This will never be hot.

  28. What’s under the hood? GM seems to be quietly phasing out the 3.6L V6, if the new XT5 uses a turbo 4, it’s definitely a NOT.

  29. Tough to find a “Hot” Cadillac without going back to the mid ’70’s.

  30. I’ll wait to see it in person. The XT-5 has always looked awkward to me. The XT-6 and XT-4 were so much more elegant in design from day 1.

  31. This is one sad, low effort refresh. And by the time we get it the XT5 would be flirting with 10 years on the market.

    This is really sad.

  32. 90% of customers cannot afford an EV and who wants to wait hours in line to get a charge. Yes, I like the XT5, but is it an EV or is it powered by a proper V6?

If it is an EV, Cadillac can shove it where the sun does not shine.

  33. I thought it was to be a redesign. The interior also needs a facelift . get rid of the 4 cyl and make sure it is manufactured in AMERICA . We are looking to replace our 2021 XT5 for 2025 XT5 ,, lease is up ,, if assembled in China NO WAY ,,

  39. It’s better than the Lyriq, that in person is horrendous, but it almost looks like a Hyundai. Not impressed, I’ll keep my 2018 XT5.

  40. The exterior is—- nice, nicer than the 2024, but nothing to write home about.
It needs to be a bolder design ,just not like a mid-year update!
I had an XT4 & bought it because of the rear tail-lights.
This is looking better than the 23-24 rear-end.
No CHINESE IMPORT THOUGH… MAKE IT IN NORTH AMERICA, or i’m out…
Do Cadillac/GM Exec’s read these buyer comments.
    Sometimes I think not!!

    1. XT4 had a better design from day one. You could also get in front or back without banging your head. The XT5 you can’t get in with your bum on the seat. You have to contort yourself to get your head in the car.

  41. Cadillac once designed and manufactured a beautiful two seater, the XLR. If they can come up with that, they can do better than their current carbon copy, ugly SUV’s. They lack pizzaz of Cadillac’s from years ago.
