Debuting the all-new third generation of Big Red’s three-row crossover, the 2024 GMC Acadia offers overhauled exterior and interior styling, larger dimensions, and updated technology and convenience features. Among the new tech is Super Cruise, GM’s semi-autonomous driving system.
The advent of Super Cruise as an available option on the 2024 GMC Acadia is a historic first for the nameplate. Not only that, but Super Cruise will be offered on all three trim levels of the third-gen crossover, including Elevation, AT4, and Denali trims.
None of the 2024 GMC Acadia trims will equip Super Cruise as standard. On the base Elevation trim, opting for Super Cruise will require choosing the Trailering Package (RPO code V92) first. The Trailering Package is standard on the AT4 and Denali trims, providing the prerequisite for Super Cruise.
As for Super Cruise itself, it’s offered via the aptly-named Super Cruise Package (RPO code WQ1), will includes the following features (RPO codes listed in parenthesis):
- Super Cruise (UKL)
- Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist (UKZ)
- Driver Attention Assist (ULM)
- Rear Camera Mirror (DRZ); AT4 and Denali only
As we recently covered, the physical dimensions of the 2024 Acadia are larger than those of its second-generation predecessor, which spanned from the 2017 thru the 2023 model years. The vehicle’s wheelbase is 8.4 inches longer while overall length increases by 10.6 inches. The 2024 GMC Acadia additionally gains 3.2 inches of height. Cargo space behind the third row expands by 80 percent compared to that of the outgoing model year, while seating for either 7 or 8 passengers is available.
The cockpit now boasts a 15-inch diagonal infotainment screen alongside an 11-inch diagonal driver information center. Tech features include, but are not limited to, built-in Google, nine available camera views, Forward Collision Alert, Following Distance Indicator, and Rear Park Assist.
As for motivation, GM Authority was the first to report that the 2024 Acadia will cradle the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine, developing 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. The GM eight-speed automatic transmission provides cog swaps for all trims.
The long-wheelbase variant of the GM C1 platform provides the bones for the third-generation Acadia. The 2024 model year adopts the GM Global B electrical architecture.
Production will take place at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant, while its start of regular production (SORP) has been pushed back until March 4th, 2024.

The new Acadia is beautiful and checks off all the boxes for a family vehicle and for those of us that just want a bigger vehicle. The only fault I see is why GM just doesn’t put the bigger Turbo Max 2.7. Especially if it’s equipped with the towing package. The cost for GM to manufacture each engine has to be minimal difference that most of us would gladly pay. I’m ready to order but going to wait six months because I think GM will realize this oversight.
What is happening to the power folding side view mirrors, which were deleted starting with the 2019 model? Will the vehicle fit into a standard 9-foot garage door opening with manual mirrors in the open position?
Disappointed to see no V6 available.
I’m also very much unhappy with GM for NOT putting at least a turbo charged V-6 in any ACADIA that is ordered with a heavy duty trailering package !!!!!! At the very least , make it an affordable option !!!!!
