For the 2024 model year, the Buick Encore GX received a mid-cycle refresh that brought along updated exterior styling and a plethora of tech goodies. Today, we’ll be taking a closer look at 2024 Buick Encore GX towing ratings to see if the revisions carried over into the Tri-Shield crossover’s hauling capabilities.
Before jumping right in, here’s a quick breakdown on the 2024 Encore GX’s powertrain specifications. Unchanged for the mid-cycle refresh, there are two engine options on offer, including the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine, rated at 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, and the available turbocharged 1.3L I3 L3T gasoline engine, rated at 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque.
Transmission choice depends on the drivetrain configuration, as FWD is equipped as standard and pairs with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), while AWD is optional and pairs with the GM nine-speed automatic. Finally, axle ratios consist of 5.45 for FWD units and 3.17 for AWD units.
With all that covered, here’s the breakdown on 2024 Buick Encore GX towing capacities:

Does anyone know of a company that sells a fifth wheel hitch for these? I just bought a 38-foot camper.
No **** ! You can’t make this stuff up … oh wait …
You put the 5th wheel “mount” on the roof.
Sunroof [ Delete ] of course …
1000 lb rating isn’t useful for much and the 100 lb tongue weight limit makes it even worse. It’s ok for some bicycles, but not much else.
Towing with these and their diminutive engines? LMAO bigtime.
Ok….What about a snow plow / blade?
Are there attachment points??
