About Chevrolet Blazer EV
In July 2022, the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV made its official debut, ushering in the Bow Tie’s mass-market midsize battery-electric crossover. Headlined by a maximum GM-estimated range of 320 miles from a full charge, the Chevy Blazer EV will be available in front-, rear- and all-wheel drive configurations, while the trim level lineup will include 2LT, RS, and Blazer EV SS, along with a Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV) model for law enforcement, making it the quickest police package ever offered by Chevy.
The first two trim levels on sale are the Chevy Blazer EV 2LT AWD and RS AWD, but the upcoming RS RWD will include a higher capacity battery pack than these trim levels.
The Bow Tie brand is even introducing a Super Sport model with the first-ever 2024 Chevy Blazer EV SS. A standard performance AWD propulsion configuration delivers up to 557 horsepower and 648 pound-feet of torque in the crossover, enabling a zero to 60 mph time of under four seconds in the Wide Open Watts (WOW) acceleration setting. Additional performance-focused features include a specific sport-tuned chassis and Brembo front brakes.
Check out the horsepower and torque figures of the 2024 Blazer EV RS RWD along with the 2LT AWD and RS AWD variants.
The Chevy Blazer EV was among NACTOY’s “Best of 2024” list, being among the 25 vehicles advancing to the finalist round of the 30th annual North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Year Awards and one of 10 semifinalists for 2024 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year.
Additionally, the Chevy Blazer EV was named 2024 MotorTrend SUV of the Year. The publication says that the 2024 Blazer EV is “easy to drive, easy to live with, easy to use,” offering a “fiery” design with real “swagger.”
On a side note, the Chevy Blazer EV doesn’t include free home charging station installation like select buyers of the Chevy Bolt EV and Bolt EUV get.
The all-electric midsize crossover rides on the GM BEV3 platform, while GM Ultium batteries pair with GM Ultium Drive motors for motivation.
The Cadillac Lyriq and Chevy Blazer EV temporarily lose the U.S. EV tax credit of $7,500 at the beginning of the new year, as will most other EVs except the Chevy Bolt EV and Chevy Bolt EUV, due to “Treasury proposed strict rules disqualifying all EVs with certain foreign battery content including low-value components.”
The online configurator tool is live for the 2024 Blazer EV.
GM Authority Executive Editor Alex Luft called the 2024 Blazer EV a “very dialed-in vehicle” after taking it for a test drive. “In a few words, the Blazer EV strikes a very healthy balance between sportiness and comfort,” he concluded, “all in an attractive package both inside and out, while packing in a whole bunch of the latest technology.” Check out the video below:

And get one headache after another. First-yearitis.
Pisses me off that they drop the price of EVs at the drop of a hat but increase ICEs and hybrids. The latter are now way overpriced thanks to EV overpricing that brought them along for the absurd ride up.
It is a very short term offer to offset the loss of the fed tax credit. Expect it to go away immediately after the supply chain is fixed so they can get the fed credit again. It all boils down to CAFE. You can either sell more EV’s to get your fleet mileage average up or you can raise prices to pay the penalty which is in the billions now.
People love the EV Blazer styling! However, once they find out it’s an EV the conversation is over. I’ve had one in stock for about 75 days. Can’t get anyone to even test drive it.
Would love to test drive one. Not too many available in my area though, And thought GM issues a stop sale while they fix the software issues.
The EV “experience” will be a classic B-School case study project / dissertation.
The market / people have spoken on EV’s.
Limited market application as a viable alternative to ICE.
Everything else was forced and, regardless of a wide range of “encouragements”, they were destined for a predicable failure.
😂 EV demand continues to increase and adoption increases YOY.
Like Mark Twain said:
“The reports of the demise of EVs are greatly exaggerated.”
When EV’s are so desirable that you need to offer $7K on the hood of the newest one on the market just to move them off the lot and even then, no one wants one…..because they are so popular.
Some makers sell them without an issue. I’d pass on GM’s Ultiums products for another 1-2 years.
So is GM losing more money on these now?
Too bad the software glitches come as standard equipment.
How is this complicated? gm is doing the right thing. Customer ordered a blazer, could not deliver it due to stop sale on the blazer, customer delivery delayed to 2024. Fed gov changed rules starting in 2024. Customer would no longer get expected 7500. gm covers it for customer. Now why are people moaning about this? Just how many on this site are in the get off my lawn category. Sheesh. I’m not in the market, but I’d be pretty unhappy if I lost a 7500 rebate due to a late delivery. So again, gm is doing the right thing.
You can get a Blazer EV lease for almost $1000 per month with almost $3500 down…
OR
You can get a Blazer ICE lease for between $350-$500 per month with $1000 down.
Are you really saving money on fuel when you are paying almost double the car payment for an EV over its ICE equivalent?
You are saving the planet. Go back to high school and get your GED.
Pure Fantasy Nonsense…..
Major stockholders will soon be forcing Barra to issue a statement that begins,
” After a rewarding career and much thought I have decided to spend more time with my family …. “
You can’t even purchase the Blazer EV now it’s on “Pause” from GM for a recall. No dealers can sell their inventory.
It’s not a recall. It’s a stop sale from GM.
200 million lines of code..trying to operate in the harshest conditions.. Built by morons, cheapened up by the GM dissolving brake lines crowd. Championed by a Washington characters that couldn’t put air in a tire.. As a Tech Im/ we techs are saying..we r not drinking ur kool-aid.. I had a guy last week come into our shop with a,77 Olds 442.. 403 v8. It sat for 22 years in his uncles garage.. With minimal work we got it instantly running.. Try that with any EV.. as they age.
The browser/OS you are typing your message on has 50M lines in win alone. If you are using firefox add another 21M lines. So really not surprised a car would have 200M lines given all the CANBUS code, infotainment center, ABS, emergency braking recognition, adaptive cruise, lane keep assist, battery management, motor management and I’m sure I’ve missed much. It is a complicated world. Your phone probably has more than 200M lines when you add in all the apps on it. Part of the explosion in lines of code is friendlier UI’s. Instead of error code 10034, it displays what is actually wrong and possibly even corrective actions for the problem.
You realize your the only one keeping a car that long? Heck they can’t keep their iphones more than 3 years before an upgrade. So those days are OVER to keep til the wheels fall off except for those that well just wont let go.
The average age of vehicles on the road in the US is at an all time high, 12.5 years. So he’s not the only one.
People can’t afford or are unwilling to get into ever increasing car notes.
I think it’s about time we call a spade a spade, and admit that this is an absolute train wreck for GM. They have lied to us on so much, regarding availability, regarding pricing, even regarding their profit margins. This EV was not ready for prime time. Look at all of the problems that are being reported, and now the stop sale. For some reason I am still a fan, but losing interest very quickly. I placed a deposit on day one, via the GM website as directed by my dealer. I knew it was going to be a very long wait, but this has gotten ridiculous. Not to mention the pricing, which to me is a huge sticking point. This $7500 tax credit needs to be automatic, in addition to a $10,000 price reduction. GM has overpriced this vehicle, and it will never succeed to gain market share unless the price is adjusted accordingly. I’m not the biggest Tesla fan, but Tesla is ruling the EV space in terms of setting the bar for pricing.
Cough, you mean BYD now. Tesla just got lapped.
Nobody knows what BYD is. Plus they don’t sell cars in the US market. Add to that over 27% in tariffs and they just aren’t a player on US soil yet.
You couldn’t give me a Chevy blazer ev
They can’t even sell them right now surely the discounts will continue when the recall is fixed but this should discount for at least 6m if they want people buy these blazers
What good is $7,500 off the price of a Blazer EV if a stop sale order has been issued?
I don’t think they can even sell Lyriq’s anymore.
Test drove a Lyriq AWD on 1/4. Salesperson didn’t say anything about a halt to sales.
I wouldn’t want any ev even if you paid me
