The right (or wrong) wheels can really make (or break) a car’s styling, especially when it comes to something as eye-catching and dramatic as the C8 Corvette Stingray. No surprise then that 2023 Corvette Stingray customers had a total of seven different OEM wheel options at their disposal, each with its own design and finish. Now, GM Authority is taking a closer look at the most (and least) popular wheels selected for the 2023 Corvette Stingray.
Notably, each of the wheel options listed here includes a diameter of 19 inches for the front, and 20 inches for the rear. In addition, this list does not include LPO-level (dealer-installed) 20-spoke Tech Bronze aluminum wheels (RPO code 5DG) as they’re available as a second set of wheels. We’ve also combined the total number of sets for each wheel option across the two 2023 Corvette Stingray body styles (Coupe and Convertible), but you can find a breakdown between the two body styles for each wheel option in the table below.
With that covered, let’s dive right in, starting with the most-popular wheel option – the five-open-spoke Bright Silver-painted aluminum wheel (RPO code Q8P). At 21.8 percent, this is the wheel you’re most likely to see rolling in the corners of a 2023 Corvette Stingray, which makes sense given it’s the standard wheel choice for all trim levels.
That said, the top three most-popular wheels are closely matched in terms of raw percentages, with the five-open-spoke Carbon Flash-painted aluminum wheel with machined edge (RPO code Q8Q) and 20-spoke Midnight Gloss Black forged aluminum wheel (RPO code Q9I) coming in a close second- and third-place with 21.5 percent and 20.6 percent, respectively.
Notably, the five-trident-spoke machined-face Sterling Silver-painted aluminum wheel (RPO code Q8S) was the least-popular option at just 4.5 percent.
Check out the table below for a more thorough breakdown of the most (and least) popular 2023 Corvette Stingray wheels:
Wheel | RPO Code | Stingray Coupe | Stingray Convertible | Total | Percentage |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
5-open-spoke Bright Silver-painted aluminum wheel | Q8P | 6558 | 3760 | 10318 | 21.8 |
5-open-spoke Carbon Flash-painted aluminum wheel with machined edge | Q8Q | 5758 | 4411 | 10169 | 21.5 |
20-spoke Midnight Gloss Black forged aluminum wheel | Q9I | 5133 | 4646 | 9779 | 20.6 |
20-spoke Midnight Gray forged aluminum wheel with Red stripe | Q9A | 3308 | 4856 | 8164 | 17.2 |
5-trident-spoke machined-face Spectra Gray-painted aluminum wheel | Q8T | 1821 | 2107 | 3928 | 8.3 |
20-spoke bright machined-face forged aluminum wheel | Q99 | 1244 | 1657 | 2901 | 6.1 |
5-trident-spoke machined-face Sterling Silver-painted aluminum wheel | Q8S | 1012 | 1101 | 2113 | 4.5 |
Total | 24834 | 22538 | 47372 | 100.0 |
As a reminder, the 2023 Corvette Stingray is equipped as standard with the atmospheric 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine, while the GM Y2 platform provides the underpinnings. Production takes place at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

This is a total joke! The more popular wheels have been on constraint almost continuously for ever. Because so many of the choices are ugly, many buyers do what I did- get the base (included) wheel and buy aftermarket wheels for their car.
Exactly!!
Can’t stand “BLACK WHEELS”. “CHROME FOREVER”
Black wheels aren’t for Boomers……
Black wheels look like it’s Monday morning and I haven’t replaced my wheel covers after I’ve spent Sunday at the drag strip. (Okay, it’s not the “60s.)
I’ve had both a 2020 and a 2022. Simply took the standard wheel and replaced them with aftermarket products. The wheels on these cars are truly the weakest design element….just too “busy” looking. The raw simplicity of Ferrari wheels always seem to compliment the overall design and not detract from it. Just my opinion.

That might be the most popular wheel because it is the basic n/c wheel. Most of us got this wheel because there was NO CHROME OPTION. I and many other bought aftermarket wheels or did a swap for these wheels CHROME PLATED.
No consideration for the seniors that love chrome. They couldn’t make one of the 7 options CHROME?
Jack,
You are 100% correct that they should have a Chrome Option. The Rice Burner Crowd doing the design work just loves “BLACK GANSTER WHEELS”
tires would spin off the bead on the chrome wheels. GM tested it and that is why no chrome.
That’s a bunch of crapola. I have had chrome wheels on my Corvettes for the last 65 years without any problems.
Where did you get this information??????????????
Most popular or most available?
i got the plain included 5 spoke silver.
it looks unique, because all of you always replace your wheels with aftermarket. brake dust is a downside.
but hopefully the prostop low dust pads will solve that.
my car looks like the one used in chevy advertising. that was mot in
purpose, but turns out it gets a lot of looks and compliments, even at 3 years old
I got the silver standard wheels on my 23 HTC because I thought it went best with the arctic white. I was considering a silver car in which point I would have wanted black wheels. But at the end of the day I like the subtle aluminum with my subtle no wing approach. Reminds me much more of the classic 60-67 Corvette.
Q9I was on constraint for 7 months in 2023 Matbe the clowns at GM should buy more than 30 a month or find a decent supplier, I bought the red stripes for 2 reasons. I hate the standard 5 spokes in any finish and the Q9I was never available. Q9A are nice wheels but def my 2nd choice
The base wheels, for me, look the best. They are what the designer did to match the body. They always look better than the accessory wheels, spider web busy wheels that look cartoonish, and people pay more for them. In black, scratch my head, all their taste is in their mouth.
I have chrome wheel on both of my Corvettes and won’t think of putting anything else…..
I think a chrome choice would be nice. I opted to replace the standard wheel with after market.
The chrome plated wheels on my C7 look great. But I prefer the polished aluminum finish on my ’21 Ford Edge with the Titanium Elite package.
