The 2025 Chevy Trax will begin production in the coming months, following hard on the heels of the popular, affordable all-new 2024 Chevy Trax compact crossover, with orders opening this month.
Now, GM Authority has learned of significant adjustments to the available exterior paint palette for the upcoming model year.
Specifically, the 2025 Trax will gain the following paint colors (relevant color code in parenthesis):
- Cypress Gray (GBD)
- Marina Blue Metallic (GKN)
Meanwhile, the 2025 Chevy Trax will also dump four colors from the lineup, including the following:
- Blue Glow Metallic (GGK)
- Cayenne Orange Metallic (GFQ)
- Fountain Blue (GLN)
- Harvest Bronze Metallic (GZF)
These four paint colors already got an early buildout for the 2024 model year of the Trax, which became unavailable to order as of mid-December 2023. Following these adjustments, the 2025 Chevy Trax will offer a lineup of eight available exterior paint choices, as shown below:
- Cacti Green (GVR)
- Crimson Metallic (GFM)
- Cypress Gray (GBD)
- Marina Blue Metallic (GKN)
- Mosaic Black Metallic (GB8)
- Nitro Yellow Metallic (GCP)
- Sterling Gray Metallic (GXD)
- Summit White (GAZ)
Both new colors are offered at no extra charge, at least at this point. Cypress Gray will only be selectable for the LS and LT trim levels of the 2025 Chevy Trax, while Marina Blue Metallic will be offered on all trim levels of the vehicle. No images of the colors are currently available.
The 2025 Chevy Trax will launch as the second model year of the fully overhauled second-generation Trax crossover. Among the changes from the first generation, second-gen vehicles feature significant dimensional updates, being longer at 178.6 inches and wider at 71.7 inches, not including mirrors. The second-gen Trax is somewhat shorter than its first-gen predecessor at 61.4 inches, however.
As a result, the interior boasts an additional 3 inches of rear legroom and 12 percent greater cargo capacity. An 8-inch infotainment screen is standard, with higher trim levels equipped with an 11-inch screen instead. The exterior design features the Bow Tie’s latest ICE styling cues, also found on the internal combustion Chevy Blazer.
All trim levels of the Chevy Trax use the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine developing 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque for motivation, with the GM six-speed automatic transmission connecting it to a FWD drivetrain. As GM Authority has learned, the 2025 Trax receives a revised engine with E85 fuel capability.
As for structure, the new Trax rides on the GM VSS-F vehicle set. The second generation Chevy Trax is produced at the GM Changwon plant in South Korea.

No prob dumping Fountain Blue and Harvest Bronze. Hated both. Geez, this thing almost sold more than the Equinox last year. I’ve STILL not seen a single one, so I guess the West Coast must be full of them.
We live in NY (upstate, not NY city) and they are all over already. So its not just the west coast. When i’m out working, I see multiple ones each day.
Actually. Fountain Blue has sold well.
I love my HARVEST BRONZE TRAX!
Cypress Gray, isn’t that close to what is currently offered on Tahoe/Suburban? It is a nice silver green color I believe. And what can be said about Marina Blue? It is one of Chevy’s iconic color names from the 1960’s. If the new version closely matches its namesake, there will be a feel-good celebration among long-time, knowledgeable Chevrolet fans.
I have the 2024 in Fountain Blue. Everyone comments what a nice blue it is. I love it and so far is a great vehicle.
Love our Fountain Blue and get compliment after compliment on the color. Sad to see it go so quickly.
We have 1 at work , a 1RS in Cacti green.
The color is awesome , and so far its one of the best new vehicles i have had the please of driving.
Works really well , is quiet , good ride , and very comfortable.
Hard to beat remote start, heated seats and steering wheel standard at an unbelievable price!!
The dealers around here have them sold before they arrive , people are buying them site unseen.
We use ours in a transportation society and our riders love the car,
There are 5 drivers who drive it, and I have not heard 1 negative from anyone, just the opposite and none of these are chevy owners, one has a VW, a Hyundai hybrid, a Subaru an Acura and a Ram truck
its an absolute blast to drive, i just pinch myself when behind the wheel, did Chevy build a car that looks this good , and rides and drives so well at this price point ??????
Was never a fan of either of these colors (Fountain or Harvest) but Blue Glow and orange weren’t bad. I still think this needs more than 137 HP as passing power and steep grades at speeds above 60 are marginal!
I have found it amazing with the torque it has for a 3cylinder..we have 2024 Lt we just came back from a trip to Branson Missouri recently…no problem at all in mountain country..so far I think it’s an amazing little vehicle for the money. One of the least tiresome vehicles to drive we’ve owned..wife loves it…
.
I love my HARVEST BRONZE TRAX! Get a lot of compliments on color. If they remove color, that is fine. I will have 1,of a kind.
Dark Burgandy … “Crimson Metallic” ?
Words have meaning, or do they ?
No AWD version?
I am anxiously awaiting my Fountain Blue Trax. Fingers crossed, it is due to arrive at the end of the month. Ordered last July!
I have a 2024 Trax Black
I love it….the only suggestion I can make is making the visors a little longer.
Cayenne Orange Metallic
Hate to see it go, love that color.
