General Motors unveiled the 2025 Chevy Silverado HD just a few days ago, showing off the new Silverado HD Trail Boss package, as well as announcing a few important changes for the rest of the heavy-duty pickup truck line. Among these are new tech items, including expanded availability for the park assist feature, as GM Authority covered previously. What’s more, the 2025 Chevy Silverado HD High Country now equips Adaptive Cruise Control as standard.
Previously, Adaptive Cruise Control (RPO code KSG) was available for the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD via the Technology Package (RPO code CWM). The package included the following content (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):
- Rear Camera Mirror (DRZ)
- Multicolor 15-inch diagonal Head-Up Display (UV6)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (KSG)
The Technology Package cost $1,775 for the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD.
In addition, Adaptive Cruise Control was available for the 2024 Chevy Silverado HD via the High Country Premium Package (RPO code PDM), which costs $2,815. The High Country Premium Package included the following content:
- Rear Camera Mirror (DRZ)
- Multicolor 15-inch diagonal Head-Up Display (UV6)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (KSG)
- Sunroof (CF5)
- Gooseneck / fifth Wheel Prep Package (Z6A)
- Chevytec spray-on bedliner (CGN)
Now, Adaptive Cruise Control is standard equipment for the 2025 Chevy Silverado HD. Additionally, the 2025 Chevy Silverado HD offers front and Rear Park Assist (RPO code UD5) as optional on WT, Custom, and LT trim levels, with WT and Custom trims receiving the feature as part of the Safety Package (RPO code PQA), and LT trims receiving the feature via a different Safety Package (RPO code PQB).
In addition, the 2025 Chevy Silverado HD offers the new Silverado HD Trail Boss package for LT and LTZ trims, slotting in between the Z71 and ZR2 with Z71-spec suspension, unique 20-inch wheels, red recovery hooks, and more.
As a reminder, the Chevy Silverado HD offers two engine options, including the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine and the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine. A more-capable variant of the GM T1 platform provides the underpinnings, while production takes place at the GM Flint plant in Michigan and GM Oshawa plant in Canada.
