Production of the 2024 Honda Prologue EV has apparently started at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico, with a worker at the facility posting two photos of an apparently fresh-off-the-assembly-line Prologue on social media today.
The Honda Prologue crossover is finished in the North Shore Pearl exterior paint color and is shown parked next to a gasoline-powered Chevy Equinox on the factory floor.
It is impossible to determine from the pictures whether the 2024 Honda Prologue shown is the first unit produced at Ramos Arizpe. It could also be a unit shown at random after serial production has started, or an early build of the crossover model. No other context is provided in the original social media post.
The Honda Prologue is Honda’s first all-electric crossover model and is being produced at Ramos Arizpe as a result of a strategic alliance with GM. It is powered and motivated by GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium Drive motors, while sharing its dimensions and many of its components with the Chevy Blazer EV. Unlike GM vehicles, however, the Prologue and 2024 Acura ZDX will offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, which The General is phasing out from its upcoming EVs.
According to Honda, the Prologue will be offered in three trim levels in the U.S., including EX, Touring and Elite. The standard configuration will be a single-motor FWD variant, while a dual-motor AWD drivetrain is optional. Single-charge range is expected to be approximately 300 miles once EPA estimates become available. The crossover will also have 21-inch wheels as an option, the biggest ever offered by the automaker.
Other features include an 11-inch digital instrument panel and an 11.3-inch infotainment touchscreen as standard, a more spacious interior than the Honda CR-V, and a suite of safety technologies. Additional options will include self-sealing tires and a Sport mode.
The GM Ramos Arizpe plant where the Honda Prologue is, or soon will be, in production also manufactures two ICE vehicles – the Chevy Equinox and the Chevy Blazer – and two other electric vehicles – the Chevy Equinox EV and the Chevy Blazer EV.
While ICE vehicle production continues at the moment, GM plans to switch Ramos Arizpe over to exclusively producing EVs sometime this year.

Will this have software issues, sales stop order? It looks nice
Hopefully GM and Honda work together to sort out the software mess ..this is one Japanese vehicle I would consider buying because of the alliance with GM! And yes it looks nice.
Pretty but I hope the oven was working this time.
It will be very interesting to see how the Prologue hits the market. Traditional Honda buyers don’t typically “cross-shop” GM vehicles. Social Media has been very critical of the alliance. So if knowledge of the Prologue’s DNA is widespread, it could be a problem – especially with the disastrous Blazer EV start. Conversely, the Toyota DNA of the Pontiac Vibe was a selling point! It certainly was for me, when buying my 2009 Vibe.
Honda Equinox.
So this plant can’t get Blazer EVs to work for a few miles without crapping out and now they are building Hondas?
GM spent well over $20,000 fixing both a 12 volt dead battery and 102.5 kwh changed out propulsion battery problem involving Detroit consultants and well over a months time with a Lyriq loaner.
How does A prologue owner get this kind of assistance from Honda from a different manufacturer in Mexico?
Especially since GM and Honda are severing their EV partnership. As I say it took more than one month to fix my 2023 Lyriq and there was only GM involved.
If they end the partnership. How does someone get a new pricey propulsion battery from Honda who doesn’t have any batteries?
Nissan left a Leaf owner stranded because he is still waiting for his replacement battery over a year now.
Will Honda do the same?
I’d definitely consider it if it were the other way around, if it was a Chevy with Honda technology, we got to be honest here, we have more faith in Honda coming up with a better product than chevy. Too bad Honda is slacking in the ev department.
Jesus I bet you a million bucks that if Honda is using GM tech that they have a silent hand in some of the development of it… it’s highly unlikely that a Japanese car company would trust anyone not even Toyota with their reputation. Still it looks cool and I also like the equinox ICE and EV coming out.
It looks too much like the Chevy/ Cadillac Optiq models. When did GM buy Honda?
FreedyR I think you need glasses the prologue looks like a Honda it kinda reminds of Honda’s from the 90s nice clean lines and not all transformers looking, maybe in size it’s similar but definitely not in looks.
