GM debuted the next-generation 2024 Chevy Trax over a year ago as the Bow Tie’s new entry-level crossover.

On the outside, the 2024 Chevy Trax incorporates the Bow Tie brand’s latest design language for internal combustion-powered models, taking after the Chevy Blazer crossover. The all-new Trax is longer, lower, and wider than the preceding model. Up front is a set of LED headlamps, configured within a dual-level cluster. Five trim levels are on offer – LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, and Activ – each including their own unique styling bits, from wheels to grille treatments.

Furthermore, the 2024 Chevy Trax offers a new Blackout Package and new roof rack cross rails.

Inside, the new 2024 Trax is roomier than the preceding model, and offers more safety features and tech, including a standard eight-inch diagonal infotainment screen on LS and 1RS trims, while higher-end LT, 2RS, and Activ trims get an 11-inch screen. Further onboard tech includes Active Noise Cancelation and cruise control, while Adaptive Cruise Control is offered on most trims.

Improvements to the 2024 Chevy Trax’s turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine help bring total output to 137 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 162 pound-feet of torque at 2,500 to 4,000 rpm. It is the same powerplant found in the Chevy Trailblazer in LS and LT trim levels. Additionally, the 2024 Trax boasts improved fuel economy over the previous-generation 2022 Chevy Trax.

Only front-wheel drive is available while the outgoing Trax offered an all-wheel-drive option. Those who would like AWD will need to move up to the aforementioned Trailblazer.

Praise for the Bow Tie brand’s subcompact crossover continues to pour in.

The 2024 Chevy Trax was one of 10 GM models among North American Car of the Year candidates, competing with six of those in the 2024 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year category.

In addition, the all-new Chevy Trax won the J.D. Power 2024 U.S. ALG Residual Value Award.

Furthermore, the next-gen Chevy Trax was named among Car and Driver 10Best Trucks and SUVs for 2024.

In case you missed it, GM Authority Executive Editor Alex Luft was also quite impressed with this legitimately good model that drives as well as it looks. He described the all-new 2024 Trax as “the Corvette of its segment,” particularly when it comes to handling prowess. Check out the video below:

  1. Ancient news, but a horrible color and atrociously named. Looks like a pile of poo with a rotting green tint to add to it. Bronze is an orangish gold, not this. Harvesting for what exactly?

    1. I usually don’t agree with negative on GMA, but I cannot agree more.
I had high hopes for this color. I saw a Colorado a few months ago in this color and it looked absolutely awful in person.

      Very, very disappointing.

  5. I bought 2024 Chevy Trax LS The gas cover doesn’t lock and all you have to do is press on it from the outside. ,and it opens .I don’t like it it’s to dangerous, anybody could put something in there.any comment, I think they should have a recall, put a lock on it.

    1. Talk about a non-issue, I’ve owned 8 cars in my lifetime of driving, and none of them have ever had a lock on the fuel flap, nor has any car I’ve otherwise ever used, borrowed or rented. I don’t know why this is a feature you’re expecting on a new car, let alone one of the cheapest vehicles you can buy. Nobody’s going to be bothered putting sugar in your tank when they can steal your catalytic converter to scrap it, or break your window to rummage through your console in hopes of finding something to pawn. If you’re going to be paranoid, at least be realistic about it.

        1. “you’re” not “your”, and if it’s such a big issue to you, why did you buy it anyway then? No rando has any interest in putting anything in your gas tank. If people want to be spiteful, or you’ve made specific enemies, they’ll just slash your tires or key your paint. It’s quicker and easier to make a clean getaway.

      3. If you want to mess with someone, pour a gallon or two of diesel in their tank. Sugar doesn’t dissolve in gasoline.

  6. If you are not already suffering from clinical-depression GM Marketing can offer you a “color” that will push you over the edge.
I have a theory … this is a Marketing Strategy.
Saving bright attractive colors for EVs so when you no longer have a choice you’ll be happy with your troubled “electric’s” appearance. Like the guy in Orwell’s ‘1984’ … when they took the rat cage off his face he was so overjoyed he really did “Love Big Brother” .

  7. This color honestly looks amazing in person!
Just like the Sea Wolf Gray Tri-coat – it does not look good in Chevy’s renderings, but in person it pops so good!!

    1. Lotsa people down here don’t like the color, but I think it looks great in the GMA rendering. A good harbinger for what it’s like in real sunlight.

Those are probably the same people who knocked the new C8 Corvette’s Zeus Bronze; a color that has alot of people wishing it was still in the Corvette Color Catalog for 2024!

  8. I’d buy another C8 (had 2) if you’d release “Venom” to replace my Adrenaline Yellow instead of just Cadillac
