2024 Chevy Equinox: Here’s Everything That’s New & Different

The 2024 Chevrolet Equinox represents the seventh model year of the compact crossover’s third (and final) generation, for which it receives a handful of small changes. Here’s everything that’s new and different about the 2024 Equinox.

Model Line

GM made no changes to the Equinox’s model line, as the vehicle continues to be offered as a compact crossover in FWD or AWD across the following trim levels:

  • LS
  • 1FL
  • LT
  • 2FL
  • RS
  • Premier

Exterior

The exterior sees the replacement of two existing colors with two new ones.

Deleted colors

  • Blue Glow Metallic (GHT)
  • Iron Gray Metallic (GIV)

New colors

  • Riptide Blue Metallic (GJV)
  • Lakeshore Blue Metallic (GXP)

Driver Assist Technology

Similarly, no changes take place to the crossover utility vehicle’s driver assist technology, which is headlined by Adaptive Cruise Control, optional on 1LT, RS and Premier trims.

Packages

The last two 2024 Chevy Equinox changes are to its packages.

First, the Confidence & Convenience Package (PCP) is now standard on the LT trim. The package was optional for the prior, 2023 model year.

The second change is more minute. It involves the Driver Confidence II Package, which now includes Lane Change Alert (UKC) with Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (UFG). For the 2023 model year, these features were offered as a standalone option that required the Driver Confidence II Package.

The updates and changes described here are specific to the U.S. market and may be different for other markets.

Chronology

The 2024 Chevy Equinox follows the 2022 Equinox, which received a mid-cycle refresh, followed by a few small changes and updates to the 2023 Equinox. Meanwhile, the 2025 Chevy Equinox will represent a complete overhaul (redesign and re-engineering) of the nameplate for its fourth generation.

We’ve seen prototypes of the 2025 Equinox various times. In fact, photos of the vehicle have leaked online various times, once then twice in Asia and once by Chevy itself. The new model will be slightly larger than the 2024 model, while becoming substantially more modern. The 2025 Equinox is expected to launch in mid-2024.

  1. Looking forward to the new Nox which is long overdue. I just hope they carry over the two interior colorways, friendly pricing, decent looking and choices of wheels and not all black as std on any model and more power for the 1.5T tied to the new 8 speed transmission. This new model should sell even better than the outgoing version if they get it right!

    1. Hope GM will make the Equinox a winner! Well, at least the Equinox is NOT a 3 cylinder SUV!

  3. Being the last MY of this generation and with little changes, you can bet this will be one of GM’s higher quality vehicles. Just don’t rush into the 2025 redesign as it will take a few years to get the bugs out.

  5. Hopelessly outdated and cheap looking by today’s standard. Unless you got an enormous discount on a 2024, only a fool would buy one.

    1. I have to disagree with the statement by Mark,in my opinion, the Equinox in Neither Outdated or Cheap looking. Take a better look at the Premiere Equinox. You have the right to your opinion but is sure sounds like you are a Big fan of th Asian carmakers.

  6. I just bought a 2024 Equinox to replace our 2019 and I am not a fool. The Equinox is a good car for around town driving, quiet, comfortable and affordable. In fact with the dealer discount and rebates from GM I saved just over $9000. from list price. I purposely bought the 2024 because I knew they would be discounted as the last model year before the 2025s come out. Will I keep this Equinox as long as my other Chevys, I doubt it. My 1970 Monte Carlo and 2001 Tahoe still run great but are not used everyday like our Equinox is.

It is too bad that there are so many judgmental people today in society over issues from cars to life choices,

  8. I traded my 21 for a 24. It’s more expensive than the previous years but the LT has Convenience 1 and most of 2 standard now.

    The differences I notice are:
    1. Smoother transmission shifts.
    2. Better front view because of the light color A pillars and less black masking on the edges of the windshield.
    3. Wireless Android Auto works better than the old wired version.
    4. Nicer wheels.

  9. I wish the equinox would ride smoother. I have a 2018 and the streets in my town are not good. It does not handle rough street’s well.
