2024 Chevrolet Traverse LT Midnight Edition in Mosaic Black Metallic: Live Photo Gallery

The 2024 Chevrolet Traverse introduces the third generation of the Bow Tie’s large, three-row crossover, bringing a full exterior and interior overhaul, which The General revealed in mid-July 2023. Having shown you the 2024 Traverse LT in Black with the Midnight Edition package, a 2024 Traverse Z71 in Red, and a 2024 Traverse LS Sport Edition, we’re now bringing you the 2024 Traverse LT Sport Edition in Summit White in today’s GM Authority Live Photo Gallery. Indeed folks, you won’t see these photos anywhere else.

So then, the Traverse LT will slot as a mid-range trim between the base LS and off-road-oriented Z71.

Starting at the front end of the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse LT, styling elements from the Chevy “Highbrow” theme are clearly visible in the dual-tier headlight treatment and the overall front fascia design. Sporting the “tougher”-looking, truck-inspired design found throughout the new Traverse trim lineup, this particular LT model has a regular grille rather than the Black grille with a unique finish that would normally be part of the Midnight Edition package. This likely indicates GM did not have the special edition grille available for this particular vehicle, which we caught as it was undergoing final validation testing.

Despite the ordinary grille, other details highlighted by the profile view confirm that this Traverse LT is kitted out with the Midnight Edition package. Its Black roof rails mark it as an LT, with these rails exclusive to the trim (and not to be confused with the Gloss Black roof rails on the Z71 and RS trims).

Midnight Edition accents adding to the stealthy, aggressive appearance of this 2024 Chevrolet Traverse include Black Chevy bow tie logos, a Black nameplate, Black AWD badge on all-wheel drive configurations), as well as high gloss Black door upper and low gloss Black belt moldings (RPO code BSW). Note that the model seen here is missing the nameplate and AWD badges.

This Traverse LT is riding on a set of 20-inch High Gloss Black painted aluminum wheels (RPO code SLV), which are signature elements of the Midnight Edition. The black rollers are wrapped in 255/55R20 all-season blackwall tires (RPO code Q3N).

Looking at the rear end, we can see the “shark fin” C-pillar treatment found across the entire 2024 Chevrolet Traverse range. The vehicle also shows off the fresh taillights and quad exhaust tips inset into the rear bumper. More black badging is also visible, and notably, the Midnight Edition package is only available on vehicles with a black body color.

Beyond the aesthetic changes, the 2024 Chevy Traverse gets a new engine with the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline powerplant cranking out a GM-rated 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque worth of output. FWD is standard, AWD is optional, and a GM eight-speed automatic transmission puts the power to the pavement. The GM C1 platform provides structure and incorporates the new Global B digital architecture.

Production of the third-gen Traverse has been pushed back from original scheduling, but is currently slated to begin in February at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.

  3. The incompetent comments on this site are so annoying my goodness. Ok wow, they made the traverse all black with black rims ( midnight edition or rs ) and now everybody hates it ? I’m starting to see why gm is focusing on China

  4. Looks really good. Could do without the fake rosewood accents on the dash and the door panels. If they want a contrasting look, a nice dark silver woodgrain or brushed nickel look would be clean and modern. Not a deal breaker, though. Those pieces could always be wrapped/covered.

  5. Why can’t GM offer more of a variety of Interior Colors as they do on the Buick Enclave? You can get all the nicer lighter colors with the Enclave.

  6. The deal breaker may very well be for this nicely redesign inside and out is without an option for the V6. I am not a 4 bagger fan…!!!

  9. Can someone point me to a good looking 3 row midsize suv? Haven’t seen one yet. These are for families. Seem to check every box for the intended use.

    1. Jake: Is there such a thing? They all look the same and are all boxes intended to haul the 2.5 family members and that one big box from the Best Buy once or twice a year.

    2. I have a 2023 Cadillac XT5 Sport and I love it. I built it online in order to have the extras I wanted and by pass some items I wasn’t interested in. This is my second XT5 and my first was new bought off our Cadillac dealers lot. I was hoping to buy another XT5 in 4 years, it appears they will not be available in North America. I will not buy a new one if the V6 is not an option and I will not buy anything made in China…!!!

  11. Why did they switch to an 8 speed transmission versus the current 9 speed?

    1. The 8 Speed is suitable enough for a 4 Cylinder.

  12. To me, my 22 Traverse in premier trim is a much better looking vehicle than the redesigned 24.

    1. Yep! The 24 Traverse makes the Ford Explorer look good. What were they thinking! I mean, the upcoming 25 Tahoe looks sweet! Why not the Traverse?

  13. It’s a very clunky ugly exterior, 2nd generation exterior is more attractive, although 3rd generation interior is very nicevab

  14. I prefer the rugged look over the outgoing model, it’s the C-Pillar that will have to be addressed when it’s due for a refresh hopefully by 2026.

  15. looks like a winner to me. my only complaint is they didn’t do a turbo V6 option. something to compete with the explorer ST would be nice. But the 8 seat option plus 20+ mpg and AWD, wow! Not bad looking either…

  16. Im not a big fan of the shark fin or whatever that treatment of the rear quarter panel is called but otherwise, it’s a good looking vehicle.
