Acura has just made new pricing details available for the 2024 Acura ZDX, the Japanese brand’s first all-electric model, enabling a more informative comparison with the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq, which shares both its powertrain and its place of manufacture.
As GM Authority has previously detailed, the 2024 Acura ZDX is a luxury crossover powered by GM Ultium battery technology and slated to be produced at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee, the same facility where the Cadillac Lyriq is produced.
Acura announced pricing for the Acura ZDX last Friday, with the lowest-priced model, the single-motor RWD A-Spec trim, tagged with a starting MSRP of $65,850 including the $1,350 destination freight charge. The highest-priced ZDX, the dual-motor AWD Type S trim with performance wheels and tires, carries a starting MSRP of $75,850. The AWD A-Spec and AWD Type S without performance wheels fall in at $69,850 and $74,850 respectively.

In comparison, the new-for-2024 Cadillac Lyriq Tech base trim is approximately 11 percent cheaper than the base Acura ZDX at $58,590 including the $1,395 DFC, per pricing details previously published by GM Authority. The range-topping 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Sport 3 trim with AWD is priced at $74,590, making its cost very similar to that of the top Acura ZDX Type S trim.
The two models share the same powertrain, but have some differences in addition to their significant similarities. While full specs and features aren’t yet available, the Acura ZDX runs Honda’s own infotainment system, which integrates both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Among other features, the ZDX is equipped as standard with a Bang & Olufsen 18-speaker surround sound system. The Lyriq gets an AKG 19-speaker surround sound system as standard in the Luxury 2, Luxury 3, Sport 2 and Sport 3 trim levels. A seven-speaker stereo is standard for the Lyriq’s Tech, Lux 1 and Sport 1 trims. The Acura crossover gets two separate screens while the Lyriq boasts a curved panel housing a full-width 33-inch LED display.
Driving range also differs somewhat. Expected EPA ratings for the Acura ZDX are 325 miles on a single charge for the RWD single-motor A-spec, and 315 miles for the AWD configuration of the trim. The Type S and Type S with 22-inch wheels are rated at 288 miles and 289 miles respectively. The Cadillac Lyriq is rated at 314 miles across all trim levels, while its AWD configuration has a maximum range of 307 miles.
The ZDX crossover is the result of a strategic alliance between GM and Honda in 2020 that sees the automakers and their brands sharing technology, propulsion systems and platforms for various North American models.
Deliveries of the ZDX are expected to start in early spring 2024.

It looks like the Cadillac is the better deal pricewise. I think I like the looks of the Acura a little better though.
