Originally making its formal introduction over the summer of the 2022 calendar year, the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV debuts a brand-new midsize crossover for Chevy’s all-electric lineup, offering multiple configurations, slick styling, and GM Ultium technology under the skin. Now, GM Authority is set to climb behind the wheel of the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV during an event in California later this week. As such, we have to ask – what do you want to know about the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV?
GM Authority will be among the first to drive the new 2024 Chevy Blazer EV, with an opportunity to get behind the wheel of the RS trim level in both RWD and AWD configurations. For readers who may be unaware, the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV RS is the mid-range model in the EV’s three-trim lineup, with the trim level cadence kicking off with the 2LT, and topped by the SS. The Blazer EV was originally expected to offer the 1LT as the entry-level trim, but the 1LT was later deleted from the lineup.
As for drive types, the 2LT will be available in FWD and AWD, the RS will be available in FWD, AWD, and RWD, and the SS will be available in AWD. For the moment, the least-expensive 2024 Chevy Blazer EV announced for far is the 2LT AWD model which starts at $56,715. Pricing for the 2LT FWD will be less than that, but pricing info for the 2LT FWD has yet to be announced.
All models are equipped with GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium Drive motors, with the GM BEV3 platform providing the underpinnings. Range per charge is set between 279 miles and 320 miles, depending on the configuration. An 11.5 kW on-board AC charger is equipped as standard (19 kW available higher in the range), while DC quick charging up to 190 kW is available. Production takes place at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico. More information on pricing, options, and packages can be found here.
So then, we want you to tell us – what do you want to know about the 2024 Chevy Blazer EV? Tell us by posting your questions in the comments section below, and we’ll answer as soon as we’re able. It should also be mentioned that driving impressions and detailed feature spotlights will be under embargo until Wednesday, December 13th, so keep that in mind. Why did GM design it to look like a station wagon?
Think Ferrari GTC4 Lusso. It’s nice looking regardless. Aren’t SUV’s lifted station wagons anyway?
Because I’m looking to relive my childhood having a 1966 Pontiac Tempest station wagon.
How much is the range affected by temperature? Whats it like in really cold conditions? Does it have a warm up option before initial morning drive?
Will the GM Design Team that styled this exterior be sent over to the Cadillac Studio to correct the Celestiq??
Are there parking sensors on the front of the car that lets you know your getting to close to an object?
Also i notice in some pictures and videos online of the red and blue SS version has Brembo brakes in the front and rear for the red. But i’ve saw the blue SS that only had those brakes in the front. Will those brakes be in the front and rear or just the front?
Saw on the demo screen of the ss that you can see how much brake pads your car will have left from the screen? Will that be on the production version as well?
Will the top speed ever be faster then 130 on the ss? Ive saw the tires on the SS thats rated W thats 168 mph. Why didn’t they pick an H rated tire thats cheaper? If it can only go 130?
Will there be some type of Sentry Mode or something like tesla that can record events that’s happening around your car? If not could can that be fixed with an update in the future?
On the manual on pager 236 it has a surround vision recorder? is that only for the ss version?
What software glitches did you run into?
None because i dont own one yet. But doing a bunch of research before I purchase one of the SS versions. So getting much info as i can before making a decision to get this one are go with a different brand all together.
Only question that matters is:
Why is it so expensive? They are already piling up at dealerships in my area.
Who the Hel* would buy one of these for $60,000+?
Sorry don’t believe you. Name the area or dealership.
Look harder. It’s not just GM dealerships. Fords are also stocked to the brim with F150 Lightnings and Mustang Mach Es. The other day I drove past a Toyota dealer in Hackensack NJ and the entire front row were bZ4Xs. About 20 of them occupying the front row. The media can say whatever they want that EVs are “gaining popularity” but boots on the ground picture tells a very different story. People don’t want to pay more for less convenience.
So I bothered to check all 3 dealerships in ATX. henna, 0, capitol 1 in stock 10 in transit, Autonation, 1 in stock, several in transit. Yes sir, they are just piling up. What is it with web comments that are just not connected to reality? Is Musk paying people for disinformation? i mean he did drop 44B on one of the biggest disinformation sites in the world, so what a few hundred bucks to get people to post on web sites.
Every location is different, depends on dealer allocation. Here in Ohio dealers also have few on hand and have seen none on the streets. Ford dealers all have alot Lightnings and Mach E sitting on lots. The sales are not going as fast as the so called professionals said they would. They have some neat features but if they start doing like Tesla and lower the price but you don’t get alll the bells and whisltles working without paying more sales are going to tank.
I have one for sale in Crosby Texas. Turnerchevroletcrosby.com
Everywhere…
Lol
I can confirm that they are starting to collect on dealer lots. So far, I can say from experience that customer interest has been close to zero.
Again, please name the area or dealer. I’m still not seeing much in ATX.

One? and how many silverados and tahoes?
One? Compare that with truck and suburban inventory?
Over 30 within 15 miles of me…
Atlanta is not a Real City kid…
Nice gentleman’s clubs though.
lol
The dealer in Naples Fl showing more than 20 in stock advertised as marked down below msrp. Its early, but does look like there’s a possible demand issue.
This is really interesting (not being sarcastic – know Internet isn’t awesome at conveying tone). Here in SF Bay Area none have functionally shown up at all (one dealer hasn’t gotten a single one, another got one in November and it sold $30k over MSRP). Dealers have been told they won’t come until end of December/January. I wonder why they allocated early production to FL over CA??
I looked at the Naples Chevy website and all the Blazer EVs says “in transit” or “available for transfer”. No selling prices listed.
I stand corrected…28 in transit. Though, on each one of them, the msrp is shown and has a slash through it and invites a click for the “the red tag price”…whatever that means exactly. I would assume a discount, but who knows with dealer types.
I feel like this is some sort of dealer-specific shenanigans to gather sales leads. No one in the country has any volume of these. Why would anyone be discounting out of the gate? And the price is held behind an email collector. I’m not arguing that Chevy might be overpricing these things. But this particular example seems super fishy.
Context is a wonderful thing!
The dealer you mentioned is showing:-
28 Blazer EV”s
177 Equinox ICE
663 Silverado 1500’s!!!
The real question is, how much money is the dealerhsip trying to extort from their customers on top of MSRP? Gurantee its $$$$+ in additional BS money…
There are a couple below MSRP at a nearby dealership, and two showing available in-transit at my nearest one. These are decent sized dealerships for towns of less than 20,000, but not monsters. I haven’t looked hard, and was rather surprised to find any in stock, let alone lightly discounted.
Ones near me are actually discounted.
5 thousand below MSRP on average.
Why buy a GM EV at all. the price will drop in 6 months to a year from now, nobody is purchasing them at the high interest rates provided by the lenders. GM is also doing the same thing with EV’s they did with ICE vehicles,
“Re-badging” across the product lines.
Weren’t we just complaining about inventory being too low and not being able to test drive many new EVs. It should be a good thing that the lots get filled just saying.
Why does it exist in a vacuum? Why are there windows on the outside that you cannot see out of from the inside? Why is it a useless toy for fools and their money?
Why is the top speed only limited to 130 on ss version? Other suvs in this segment do around 163 etc?
Yea, why is that? I often want to go faster than that!
Are the seats comfortable? Will ventilated seats only be available on the top trim. How much hard plastic is in the interior? What is the estimated $ of the rwd model?
Why is this so ugly compared to regular blazer?
Regular Blazer is a mix of awkward, cheap and ugly. The electric version is significantly better in all regards.
You may not like the EV powertrain, but the ICE version is pretty boring in the powertrain department too.
Give us a thorough rundown of the new GM software that’s being used in the Blazer. What are the pros and cons of this system versus the Google based system that’s currently being used. How this system can interact with personal phones without Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
Also detail what items will require a subscription to operate.
I have given up on the Blazer EV due to its pricing being too high. What I would like to know is when will the Equinox EV 3LT be availablr for customers to order?
Does it have a useful frunk and will a set of golf clubs fir in the rear cargo area?
What is the total storage capacity with the seats down? Is there room to place some skis (6′ long) in the back with seats down?
The new version of the Bolt will get a new battery configuration. How does it differ from the Equinox/Blazer assembly and will it have a quick charge capacity? Also same question regarding storage capacity. Can a 6′ long pair of skis fit inside the vehicle?
TY
Can it be charged with a level 2 home charger with the J1772 plug over riding the on board charger?
Well yeah. Except the charger changes 120 or 220 to PDC to charge the battery. The cord or wall box just turns things on and off unmodified. The only other trivial thing the wall box does is tell the car charger the limit of how much current it can take.
Saw all I needed! “EV “speaks volumes and from my opinion not very good. We will not even come close to having charging stations where you don’t have to wait in lines that allows you to have to again wait for hours to get a full charge of the batteries. Wake up American because all this EV hype being the future is like asking you to carry water in a paper bag! Buying a horse would be a better bet! Tomg
I test drove the Blazer EV at my local dealer. I found what the dealer called “The sound of the sun” made bt the car until it reached 25 mph to be loud and annoying. Can that sound be adjusted?
I found the Blazer EV to be a pleasure to drive and comfortable.
I am waiting on the Equinox EV for it’s size and price point.
Which if any models will have 360 surround cameras? Some 0-60 times in the different configurations would be helpful.
I want to know GMs logic (or lack there of) behind pricing this at only $3k less than the luxury sibling. As if this hasn’t been done before and failed miserably for the volume variant like it did with VW (Phaeton and Touareg) and Toyota (Land Cruiser). I fail to see how this thing will sell well with the same pricing strategy.
The Blazer RS is close to being a Lyriq Luxury 2 trim which starts at $67k, so about $6k difference.
You can get a Lyriq Tech for much less but the RWD model has 341 HP and 312:miles of range. I get around 330.
People must believe there is huge difference in Blazer styling since you get smaller motors plus an 85 kwh battery whereas all Lyriq’s get at least 102.5 kwh.
Unless people love their Chevy dealership I don’t feel like paying that cash for much less car.
Lyriq may the best value in luxury EVs right now. Great car. Amazing price.
The choices for interior color seem very limited. Will this ever be expanded?
Will the Blazer EV and the Equinox EV come with a spare tire? How much will replacement batteries cost? Will GM start offering their own auto insurance to offset expensive insurance premiums like Tesla is doing? Will the models come with cables that can be plugged into any charging station?
In USA and Canada currently, all public chargers have cables. Fast charging is industry standard Ccs1, which is household power 110 or 220, and 300-400 volt fast charging.
That 190 kw figure is misleading. I don’t know how to spell his name but it rhymes with Tom Baloney….
Unlike some of his other vids, the 2023 fast charging Lyriq review is excellent. The charging rate ends up being essentially 1/3 faster than the notoriously slow bolt Ev’s rate. He charged from 20 to 80 percent
I’ve done a 2% to 100% fast charge and the results are even more depressing. At times the charge rate drops to 3 kw (!!!!) With 60-70 kw being average overall.
Included with all current GM Ev’s other than plain jain bolt ev, and Hummer EV, all others including EUV give u A 110/220 charging cord “portable wallbox” which is excellent. Monitors temperature at plug, car connector and itself .
Plugs into range/stove/RV 4 prong nema 14-50 receptacle, or for 120 a standard outlet.
Well hummmmm, my Lyriq which is basically a blazerEV has been at the dealer for the past week since it refuses to charge up due to a U362C code from the $20,000 battery
Today I heard a technician from Detroit is being dispatched to fix it. Will be interesting to see ultimately how many times in the shop it takes to fix an Ultium Battery.
When they say they can’t make batteries fast enough, seemingly they can’t make WORKING batteries fast enough.
The dealer told me today that GM is pulling out of the EVs and he doesn’t think the SS will make it to production. I am trying to order an SS, but I can’t get a date from anyone.
Dealers can’t even be trusted to tell us what features their current EVs have. Not a chance they know anything about the SS.
I seriously don’t think that. There to far in to do so. Plus maybe dealer trying to hurry up and get you buy something.
The thing about GM is Mary Barra constantly lies with a straight face. She calls GM the leading EV manufacturer when Tesla makes twelve times as many cars and has made 135,000 more than last year, which is of course their increase is more than what GM and FORD combined made last year.
Pricing for the most bare bones Blazer EV is much higher than the essentially identical but bigger motor, and Longer range Cadillac Lyriq Tech trim.
Meanwhile, Tesla has drastically lowered their prices across the board for their passenger cars.
GM will have to lower the price.
when are they going to lower the price back to where they said it would be. when is rear wheel drive coming and super cruise ??? this is not a Lyriq
Why isnt heated steering available on RWD models either as part of a package or available as an option to add?
Questions on Blazer EV:
What is the towing capacity of the SS trim? (1,500 pounds on the RS AWD SuV does not make for much utility).
Does any trim have a hands-free lift gate?
Does any trim have turning lights?
Does any trim have fog lights?
How well does software work without CarPlay? How good is nav. Voice control? Reading and dictating texts?
To me that huge touch screen is borderline horrible. I constantly have to retap screen several times to get it to do simplest things.. since it is a big safety hazard while driving sometimes I have to ignore things until I’m stopped as when it took me five minutes to reset trip odometer.
And of course at Dusk the thing is so dim even at max brightness that I can barely see anything. Strange. Other Gm touch screens like my five year old volt work smoothly and flawlessly.
hello, Why do you keep advertising Super cruise for the Chevy EV Blazer but you never provide information about “IF” or “when” super cruise will be available?
Why did GM unveil it so early so it feels stale and like yesterday’s news when it finally arrives in the showroom?
When will the Blazer EV have the Tesla charging port? Have to wait till 2025? Why not make it an option now?
Why did they not make the Equinox standard rwd, I hate front wheel drive period. Does that thing ping-pong down the road of has it got a brain the centres it in the lane? I also like apple car play. I might buy a Honda
When will the configurator for the SS be available to those who made a reservation? And will this be the 2025 since it’s being released in mid 2024?
Is the towing capacity really only 1000? Pretty sure the Cadillac version is 3500. Ask GM why.
Pulling a utility trailer or small boat or popup is kind of a nice feature of an suv.
I want to know more about the SS if they will spill any news. There’s no confirmed prices or availability yet outside of “you’ll know in the spring”. Also for the back seat of the RS, pay attention to the child seat hook covers. When I went and sat in one, those covers could easily be felt and made the back seat feel uncomfortable to me. Find out if those hooks are a standard feature or if I can get one without.
No reason for anyone to buy one now wait till after January 1st and the $7500 tax incentive comes off the price at the dealer instead of the tax credit that you have to do on next years taxes if you buy now. I think sales will pick up early next year.
I like the looks of this vehicle but after the initial rush of early adopters I wonder how it will sell after year one?
The Ford Mustang Mach E was initially all the rage but now Ford is staring at a whopping 358 day supply of them. Hence their statement about EV sales being slower than anticipated and the fact they’re scaling back plans for EV battery production.
How long will it take to defrost the windshield and warm up when I come out of work after 8 hours and it’s -25 to -30 Celsius?
Relatively quickly…though my EV experience has been at -5, not -20. Given there’s no waiting on an engine to warm up, the warm air comes as fast as the heat in the heated seats. Those very cold temps will defintely deplete the range, so helpful if you’re driving less than 200 miles a day, and have the availability of home charging. If the range works, it should be a big step up in comfort, including no need to stand out in the cold and pump gas at minus 20.
All respect to you…I experienced -20 to -30 a number of times in my youth (pre-heated seats), and wating for the car to warm up is not a misery I would care to suffer again!
My $25k ’24 Trax has heated seats, and the heater is quick to warm. “Warming up” an ICE vehicle is not even recommended anymore. Five minutes in the cold, pumping gas, is therapy for the immune system. Well worth it for the infinitely more versatile/useful ICE operating system.
Is there any way to activate the Blazer with a key fob to start the warming process like a remote start or do you have to activate it manually in the vehicle? I can sit inside now where it’s warm and let my ICE Buick warm up.
Why doesn’t there seem to be any major advertising campaign now that the Balzer EV is currently available at dealers?
I’ve been seeing loads of commercials on YouTube for Acura ZDX EV (direct cousin to the Blazer), and it’s not even on sale till late 1st quarter of 2024.
Why is the Blazer EV pricing so close or equal to the Cadillac Lyriq?
