GM has issued a customer satisfaction program for certain buyers of the 2024 GMC Sierra who were accidentally double-charged for the Performance Exhaust System (RPO code NPP) feature when they purchased it in conjunction with an optional package.
The performance exhaust system is also known as Dual Active exhaust. This option is only available on 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 units with the 4WD drivetrain configuration adn the available naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine.
The General notes that the double-charge only occurred on the invoice of very specific 2024 GMC Sierra truck configurations. In addition to all of the details noted above, the involved pickups also all have the SLT Package Option 1 (RPO code 4SA) equipped, with the exact number of affected units currently unknown.
Just like a vehicle requiring a repair, the double-charged Sierra SLTs are marked “Open” in the GM Global Warranty Management system, on their Investigate Vehicle History page. Dealerships can use the system to verify involvement of a specific vehicle in this customer satisfaction program.
Dealers are instructed by the bulletin to issue a reimbursement check in the amount of $395 to 2024 GMC Sierra owners who were, in fact, double-charged for the exhaust option. These owners are required to identify themselves by presenting their state driver’s license or other ID, the vehicle’s registration, and their Original Owner Letter before the reimbursement check is handed over.
The program for handing out the reimbursement checks to affected Sierra owners will remain open until January 31st, 2026. GM also notes rather obviously that no components are needed to solve the problem. Dealers are also instructed to properly record and submit the reimbursement in GM system.
Owners of affected 2024 GMC Sierra trucks can contact Big Red’s customer service telephone, listed below, if they have any additional questions about the reimbursement, referring to the customer satisfaction program’s identifying number as needed:

“Let the buyer beware” as the Romans said. It would fix a lot of the price issues if people would actually think before they buy. Those who waltz in and ask for financing on an expensive vehicle in my mind deserve being double charged.
GMC also charged for the premium Bose system when in fact it wasn’t…..
GMC pricing is ridiculous. They squeeze every possible penny from the buyers, and offer as little as possible for that extra change. We recently took delivery on a ’24 Sierra Elevation with several up market packages. I am appalled that self-dimming mirrors weren’t part of a truck with a $70k sticker. My wife’s 2017 Mazda 3 puts GM to shame with its content for the price.
2023 GMC Acadia SLT Thought it had Adaptive cruise control but it does not, I would have paid for this. Any way to get the chip to add this to the SLT now?
