Back in June, General Motors released a handful of images showing off the refreshed 2024 Buick Envision, which is set to drop in as the fourth model year for the crossover’s second generation. As GM Authority covered, the 2024 Buick Envision was previously scheduled to launch in the first quarter of the 2024 calendar year, later than originally anticipated. Now, however, GM Authority has learned that the launch of the refreshed 2024 Buick Envision has been delayed yet again.
Per previous GM Authority coverage, the start of regular production for the 2024 Buick Envision was originally expected to kick off October 30th, but was later pushed back to December 11th. Production was later confirmed for the first quarter of the 2024 calendar year. Now, GM Authority has learned that the refreshed 2024 Envision won’t arrive before late 2024.
According to GM Authority sources, Buick dealers began submitting orders for the 2024 Buick Envision late this past September. Although orders have already been placed, buyers will have to wait until at least late 2024 to receive their new crossover as a result of this most recent delay.
As for the refresh, the 2024 Envision ushers in a variety of updates and changes for the crossover, including a new design for the front and rear fascia, the former of which now includes a new grille and dual-tier headlights similar to the 2024 Buick Encore GX and 2023 Buick Envista, while the rear includes a new bumper and new taillights. The 2024 Buick Envision also incorporates styling cues from the Buick Wildcat EV, as well as Buick’s new Tri-Shield logo.
Further changes include new exterior paint options, as well as new interior colorways. The interior also incorporates a new three-spoke, multi-function steering wheel, as well as a fully digital display.
As for the greasy bits, the 2024 Buick Envision is motivated by the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 228 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 258 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpm. The GM E2 platform is found under the skin, while production will take place at the GM China SAIC-GM Jinqiao South plant.

So is the 2023 Envision going to remain in production through 2024? Will the refreshed model become a 2024.5/2025 model? This is weird.
Considering the fleet order guide has already been posted online, this is odd. They did push back the Equinox and Traverse refreshes a year, but what’s the excuse this time?
That front end is horrible looking with that huge grin and slit eyes!
Kinda agree. That design looks OK on the new Encore GX and the Envista to me, but it just doesn’t fit well here.
It looks like someone took one car, cut off the front end and photoshopped another front end from a different car on it that doesn’t belong.
The fleet order guide was on-line this summer, then vanished for a few months this fall, only to appear again in late November. This is very strange. I was hoping to be able to consider this for purchase in spring/early summer 2024. I think I should count this out.
Well this totally sucks! I was hoping to buy one this spring, but I can’t wait any longer. This is VERY DISAPPPOINTING!
I hope they scrap the refresh. It went from being a beautiful, fashion forward crossover… To a cheap Hyundai knock off front end.
Now what? My 2021 Lease is up in July.
Maybe an XT4? But my Buick Dealer is great. Hate to leave them.
Do Americans really want a Buick made in China?
I thought that late 2024 date in this article had to be wrong. So, I went on the Buick website and on the website that is exactly what is posted:
“2024 BUICK ENVISION
ARRIVING LATE 2024”
Get a Cadillac XT5 ….. Much better all around!!!
Wouldn’t late 2024 make it a 2025?
I ORDERED A 2024 BUICK ENVISION IN SEPTEMBER’IT WAS MADE DECEMBER 6TH .FOR SOME REASON THEY ARE NOT RELEASING THE CAR. ANY IDEA?
If they really want to improve the Envision give it a decent storage area in the rear. The existing one is way too small for a midsized SUV.
