Here’s When 2025 Chevy Trailblazer Production Will Start

Following a mid-cycle refresh for the 2024 model year, the Chevy Trailblazer isn’t expected to feature any major updates for 2025. Now, GM Authority has learned when the 2025 Chevy Trailblazer is scheduled to begin production.

Sources familiar with the matter tell GM Authority that the start of regular production (SORP) of the 2025 Chevy Trailblazer is currently scheduled to commence on April 1st, 2024. With this in mind, production of the 2024 Trailblazer is scheduled to end on March 31st, 2024.

It’s important to note that those two dates are tentative in nature and subject to change at any time.

As a reminder, the mid-cycle refresh for the 2024 Trailblazer brought along a redesigned front fascia, an overhauled interior, new wheel designs, and a bevy of new standard features. As previously mentioned, the 2025 model year of the Bow Tie brand’s subcompact crossover is expected to only feature minor changes over the refreshed model.

The list of standard safety features include Automatic Emergency BrakingFront Pedestrian BrakingLane Keep Assist with Lane Departure WarningFollowing Distance Indicator, and Forward Collision AlertAdaptive Cruise Control is optional.

Under the hood, the 2025 Trailblazer will be powered by the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine, rated at 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, as standard affair, while the turbocharged 1.3L I3 L3T engine, rated at 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque, will be optional. Units equipped with the LIH engine, as well as units with the L3T engine and FWD, will be mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), while 1.3L engines with optional AWD will be matched to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission.

Under the skin, the Trailblazer rides on the GM VSS-F vehicle set, while production for the North American market takes place at the GM Bupyeong plant in South Korea.

  1. 2024s are just now beginning to trickle into dealerships, so rushing the ’25s makes no sense, but it’s GM…I CAN see the ’25 Trax arriving early if there are meaningful updates (and a big fat price increase). The TB won’t have any for ’25 and it’s overpriced to begin with.

    1. It takes time to ship from Korea and get through customs that’s why they start production early. If it was built in USA or Canada for North America markets you could add two months to that years production

  2. I’d like to see them drop the 1.2 and make the 1.3 the standard power-plant. Then offer perhaps the 1.5 liter 4 cyl as the optional engine or perhaps offer a hybrid.

  3. If you want to believe the driving publications the 1.3 doesn’t offer much in acceleration improvement but does diminish mpg somewhat. I would have to drive both to see if one is any better then the other, but I just don’t see many on dealer lots.

    1. You don’t see them on lots because they sell like hotcakes. I have the 1.3 liter and it’s zippy. It’s puts out 20 psi of boost. I’m definitely impressed. That’s saying something as my other car has 450hp. The TB is no slouch.

      1. How can you crank up the boost?

        1. I use an app with a Bluetooth OBD2 adapter to monitor it. I’ve seen 19-20 psi of boost but I can’t say I know how to adjust that.

      2. I agree. These vehicles have great bottom end torque and accelerate as fast as more powerful vehicles. They are less quick at higher speeds but will do everything you need and are fun to drive.

  4. I have a 2025 Chevy trailblazer, first on the lot at the dealership. Yes, it wasn’t Cheap, but oh so Beautiful. It is not a dog on the Highway, more zip than any review would have you believe. Fun, great style, room for husband, two dogs, and a walker, yup I’m 77 and this my last GREAT Suv!
