Representing an all-new generation upon its official debut, the 2025 Chevy Equinox is set to introduce massive changes to the exterior styling, interior appointment and technological goodies. Now, GM Authority has discovered when production of the Bow Tie brand’s new-gen compact crossover is expected to kick off.
GM Authority has learned from sources familiar with the matter that the start of regular production (SORP) of the 2025 Chevy Equinox is currently scheduled to commence on May 20th, 2024. In the same vein, production of the current 2024 Equinox is scheduled to conclude on May 18th, 2024.
It’s worth noting that these are tentative dates and are subject to change at any time. In addition, the third-gen Chevy Equinox is currently built at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant and GM San Luis Potosà plant, however, the fourth-gen model could be built exclusively at the latter facility as the former transitions towards EV-only production – which includes the Chevy Blazer EV, Chevy Equinox EV, and Honda Prologue thus far.
As a reminder, the all-new 2025 Chevy Equinox will feature an exterior design more in line with Chevy’s styling language, which includes its signature two-tier “highbrow” headlight treatment similar to that of the Chevy Traverse and Chevy Blazer, with thin upper lighting signatures. Out back, a set of horizontally oriented taillights will be found, along with dual exhaust outlets.
Moving into the cabin, the interior will be thoroughly overhauled and feature better ergonomics and more usable space, while a new digital gauge cluster will be prominently displayed behind a new steering wheel. An all-new infotainment system will be present, as well as new active safety features and GM Super Cruise technology.
In regard to powertrain specifications, General Motors has yet to reveal any details. However, we expect the 2025 Equinox to boast a fresh, small-displacement turbocharged engine. Output will likely be routed to either a front-wheel or an all-wheel drivetrain through the GM nine-speed automatic transmission.
Under the skin, the next-gen Equinox will ride on an updated variant of the GM D2 platform.

Your photos seem to be from China where they have a PHEV badge on it. I doubt the US is getting that version.
We’re not getting Chinese badge either.
It will probably be equipped without Apple Car Play and Android Auto…… They really need to rethink that strategy!
It will still have carplay. Only EV’s are dropping it.
Gm needs to forget about EV vehicles we need normal dependable American. Built. These days all Gm vehicles have major problems and not worth the exaggerated prices some body has to pay for all recent problems goes to customer
What’s this new small displacement turbo engine size. Hopefully the 2.5
Have had two of them in the past…neither any good as far as reliability. Resale value is lousy too,
My 2018 2 ltr has been great. No issues
My 2017 4 wheel drive non-turbo 2.5 has been great. Gas mileage sucks though. But mostly non-highway driving. Typically 17 mpg.
Looks a lot like the old 2006 Saturn vue. It was a nice ride with the 6 in it only had a problem with the Honda AC used with the motor, bad seals that leaked. Upgraded to a 2009 enclave cxl that my wife still drives.
Damn good looking from the outside, which is something I have never said about the Cadillacs
Put the 2 or 2.5 in it and I might just bite/ buy a new one. Definitely better looking then the current model.
