Here’s When 2024 Cadillac CT4 Production Will End

Standing as the fifth model year of Caddy’s smallest sedan offering, the 2024 Cadillac CT4 introduces just a few updates over the preceding 2023 model year. Now, GM Authority has learned when production of the 2024 CT4 is expected to conclude in the North American market.

Sources familiar with the matter have told GM Authority that production of the 2024 Cadillac CT4 is currently scheduled to end on May 30th, 2024. Looking forward, there has yet to be any official confirmation that there will actually be a 2025 CT4. It’s worth noting that this is a tentative date and subject to change at any point.

In fact, given the sheer number of prototype CT5 units GM Authority has spotted, the future of the Cadillac’s smallest sedan offering isn’t looking too bright.

Speaking of the “potential” 2025 Cadillac CT4, prospects aren’t looking terribly great for the luxury sedan. More specifically, sales figures of the CT4 have been downright abysmal, placing the Caddy sedan dead last in its segment.

Of course, the Mercedes-Benz A-Class and Acura ILX have been already been discontinued, and are included here in order to be comprehensive. These circumstances create an interesting scenario, where if General Motors were to axe the CT4, that would leave the Cadillac CT5 as the sole product of the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan, as production of the Chevy Camaro has already concluded.

As a reminder, the CT4 is offered with three engine options, including the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque (or 325 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque in the CT4-V), and the twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 LF4 gasoline engine, rated at 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque.

Under the skin lies the GM Alpha 2 platform, while North American production takes place at the aforementioned GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

  1. Just watch GM cancel yet another great car to push overpriced EVs instead. All the CT4 needs is a minor interior update and tech refresh!

  2. There haven’t been any to buy on the lots, so there is nothing to sell! Meanwhile, the Blackwing keeps getting rave reviews and awards, but none are to be found anywhere also. I bet the planned updates for 2025 would have helped increase sales, but again they have to actually produce them in order to sell them.

  3. What a pity. The Japanese, Germans and Koreans still have strong portfolios of sedans. They keep getting better, and still are ICE powered. Clearly there’s a strong demand for well-executed sedans.

  4. They, GM make these vehicles to hard to come by, boy if you need a car you can’t find one, there is demand. The dealers act like there doing you a favor to get a vehicle. SMH.

  5. A true shame here. I own a 21 premium luxury with the 2.7 AWD. Absolute pleasure to drive. 80,000 km and still as tight and smooth as day 1. I definatly believe GM has missed the opportunity to hit a homerun here. I had to order mine sight unseen. The only CT4 I could find to test drive at the time was a 2wd V, and over 3 hours from my home while on a weekend vacation. Nothing on the lots within 150 km from me. When they did start to get inventory, albeit sparse, I only saw the smaller 2.0 powertrain version. I can absolutely see why a potential buyer would look to the competition. The driving experience between the 2 drivetrains is night and day. If they’d done the car justice and actually marketed it, they’d have a winner. I drove the rest in that price point. Cadillac was the easy decision.

  6. None near me as well, definitely thinking the ct4 being an empty nesters. Like mort I want the 2.7 awd. Can’t even test drive without going long distance. You have to question management!

  7. I have a 2020 CT4V and was planning on a 2025, with the refresh.

The CT4 refresh has a lot of similar parts with the CT5 refresh, so it’s not hard to refresh
    and keep it going.

Seeing only CT5 testers sounds like a clue, but maybe it’s still early. The CT4 might get started later, after
the refresh is good to go in the CT5. As long as the new dash is the same in both and CT4 isn’t getting
new lights, it should not take long to get CT4 going.

At this point if CT4/CT5 can be ordered, you should be able to test drive a used version then order.
I ordered mine without a test drive, because I had a ATS and felt CT4 was ATS gen2.

My dealer gets plenty of allocations and if he doesn’t have a special order waiting, he will order a Blackwing in CT4 or CT5.

Since factory should have room now, it should become easier to order and an easier reason to keep CT4.
If Cadillac builds a car EV, it will probably be the larger model first, giving CT4 more life, unless it’s dead.

If no 2025 CT4, I will look at Integra, Lexus or CT5.

  8. CT4 needs to become a two door car because its a small car that has back seats that cant be used. So the CT4 should be manufactured as a Cadillac Camaro alongside the Chevy Camaro that should have stayed in production. CT5 should share its platform with Chevy Impala because people want RWD platform from a premium sedan.
