Here Is Next-Gen 2024 Chevy Traverse Super Cruise Availability

The 2024 model year marks the arrival of the third-generation Chevy Traverse, which brings along all sorts of upgrades and additions to the exterior styling, interior features, and technological goodies. Regarding the latter, one piece of technology that the second-generation Traverse never featured was General Motors’ semi-autonomous driving system, Super Cruise. Now, that notable omission has been addressed for the all-new 2024 Chevy Traverse.

For the first time in the Chevy Traverse’s history, Super Cruise will be available to equip. In fact, a majority of trim levels – including the LT, Z71 and RS – will have the ability to option the feature, while the base LS will not.

Super Cruise will be included as standard on the RS trim level. However, on the LT and Z71, the semi-autonomous driving technology will not be offered as a standalone option, but included and only available as part of the Enhanced Driving Package (RPO code Y5T), which includes the following (relevant RPO code in parenthesis):

  • Super Cruise (UKL)
  • Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist (UKZ)
  • Driver Attention Assist (ULM)
  • Bose premium 10-speaker audio system (UQA) – LT and Z71 only
  • Rear Camera Mirror (DRZ) – Z71 only

As a reminder, the 2024 Chevy Traverse is all-new for the third-generation, and features a new exterior design that includes Chevy’s “High Brow” design theme and a more truck-inspired front fascia with dual-tier headlights. Additional design elements include forward-leaning C-pillars and bright chrome quad exhaust tips.

Meanwhile, the cabin is highlighted by the 17.7-inch diagonal color infotainment touchscreen, which is standard across the lineup. The new cockpit also features a redesigned steering wheel, as well as more interior space overall, improved ergonomics, new colorways, and higher-quality materials.

Under the hood, the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine, producing a GM-rated 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque, delivers the go-go juice. The GM eight-speed automatic transmission manages cog swaps, while FWD is standard and AWD is optional.

In regard to structure, the 2024 Traverse rides on a revised version of the long-wheelbase variant of the GM C1 platform, which now incorporates various upgrades like the Global B digital architecture. Production will kick off in early 2024 at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.

  2. GM Cruise laying off 900 people .
Seems AV isn’t all it’s dragged up to be .
    I mean “bragged” up . ….. just a typo .

    1. The fact that you think that’s relevant to SuperCruise is just showing your ignorance.

      1. Yeah, there’s ZERO shared tech . Genius much ?

        1. Oof. I can’t believe I have to explain this to you. Cruise is the GM arm responsible for MONETIZING AV tech. Just because there’s less of a market than anticipated right now for AV tech does not mean ANYTHING for the tech itself.

For instance, GM makes way less money off their crate engines than they do off whole cars with those engines in them. Should I use that as commentary on whether cars having engines is a good idea?

      2. I’d bet the majority of GM customers don’t know the difference and don’t care. GM needs to be careful to not continually alienate their customers with too much unnecessary high tech equipment on their vehicles. It drives up the cost to purchase and repair.

  4. would you get the chevy traverse or gmc version? is the difference really just interior and exterior styling?

    1. GMC has always been “Chevy” … spelled differently.

    2. Personally, I’d take the GMC for the smaller portrait-style screen. 17.7″ with an odd aspect ratio doesn’t seem like it will age well. But otherwise, yes. Maybe the AT4 will differentiate slightly, but I doubt by very much.

  5. On the 2024 traverse website, it lists super cruise as a standard feature under the list for RS and Z71. Weird.

    1. It lists it as standard for the LT as well. I talked to one local dealer yesterday and they have their allocations but that was all they could tell me as of around noon – no updates on pricing yet.
