On December 1st, 2023, The General issued a stop delivery to its dealerships ordering them to halt deliveries of certain 2024 Chevy Equinox, 2024 Chevy Blazer, 2024 Chevy Blazer EV and 2024 GMC Terrain vehicles, and await further notice.
According to the document published by the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), only specific units of the Chevy Equinox and other models are affected by the order, with a list of VIN numbers provided by GM along with the stop delivery.
The exact problem for which the order to halt deliveries of Chevy Equinox, Chevy Blazer, Chevy Blazer EV, and GMC Terrain units from the 2024 model year has not yet been publicly identified. However, the bulletin announcing the order contains several hints that a safety issue has been identified with the vehicles in question.
The stop delivery order is labeled under “Global Safety Field Investigations,” suggesting the safety inquiry is still ongoing. Additionally, the document says that affected vehicles are marked in the Global Warranty Management system, with the message “Incomplete Remedy Not Available” appearing on their Investigate Vehicle History screen.
GM noted that the affected Chevy Equinox units and other vehicles cannot be sold or delivered until further notification is received. The automaker says a number of vehicles on the VIN list are either in current dealer inventory or are in transit to dealers. Some may have already been delivered to customers, so the bulletin also serves to give dealerships a response to owner inquiries.
The notice also contains a list of all dealers who either have the affected vehicles in stock on their lot or to whom affected units are in transit. Knowing the affected VIN numbers enables GM to identify all dealers who have received the problematic Chevy and GMC vehicles.
The affected Chevy Equinox and other nameplate units cannot be used for demonstrations or traded to other dealerships in addition to the sales halt. The notice assigns the problem reference number N232429910 and contains no timeframe for further information to be issued.
Notably, the Chevy Equinox, Blazer and Blazer EV are all built at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant, while additional Equinox units plus the GMC Terrain are built at the GM San Luis Potosà plant. Both facilities are located in Mexico.

Good grief. What’s the problem now?
They would not say. My guess is that the vehicles affected are haunted and they don’t want anyone getting spooked while driving.
Need a competent individual running the company, (that use to be a corporation with the last competent individual that ran the what once was then a corporation) that isn’t hypnotized about a push for ev’s, because you mislead investors and make them think you knew what you were talking about, but far from it and now you have to continue on with the push to try and make it work so you don’t look like you are incompetent so you can keep getting their money, but it’s just a waste of time, because investors can see what is happening.
Probably on purpose due to strike. Jus a guess
Was the Mexico plant on strike?
I heard the glue for the rearview mirror mount was not applied to standard thickness.

We have a 2024 blazer EV. Came off the hauler stone dead, charged up it moves, but cannot get the radio or ip to do anything. Just all black screens. Had a rep out, tried everything he could. Bad software, radio and dash all locked out, don’t have good software to bring it back, YET. Waiting on a fix. Rumor has it others are doing this as well…I’ll bet that is what this is about.
You’d think they’d try out the SW before rushing to market with more junk.
U would have thought the engineers would have had these vehicles to test drive for months to use as commuters cars to prevent this huge image problem that gm now has. Heads should roll over this.
