Across the United States, inventory levels of the Chevy Equinox fell as of early December 2023, GM Authority has learned from sources close to the matter.
There were approximately 27,000 units of the Chevy Equinox on the ground at dealerships as of early December 2023, with an additional 11,500 examples in transit to dealers. This gives the Equinox a 40 days supply, meaning that inventory levels are able to sustain 40 days worth of current sales volume. For context, a 60 days supply is considered optimal across the automotive industry.
Moving forward, it’s likely that inventory levels will continue to improve throughout Q4 2023, as General Motors continues to ship more Equinox units to the U.S.
For reference, inventory levels of the Equinox bottomed out back in June 2023, with approximately 5,700 units on dealership lots and 6,800 examples en route for a 14 days supply. Since then, inventory figures peaked in November 2023, where the Bow Tie brand’s compact crossover boasted a 52 days supply figure with roughly 29,000 units on site and another 11,000 examples in transit.
Interestingly, sales of the Equinox rose over the course of Q3 2023, likely reflecting the increasing days supply figures over the past few months.

In the United States, Chevrolet Equinox deliveries totaled 48,291 units in Q3 2023, an increase of about 4 percent compared to 46,646 units sold in Q3 2022.In the first nine months of the year, Equinox sales decreased about 6 percent to 154,142 units.

As a reminder, the current 2024 Chevy Equinox is offered with a single powerplant, the new-for-2023 turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine, rated at 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. The GM six-speed automatic transmission directs this output to the wheels.
Notably, the LSD engine replaced the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LYX gasoline engine, which previously produced 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque.
In regard to structure, the Equinox rides on the GM D2 platform. Production of the 2024 model year officially kicked off in May 2023 at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant and the GM San Luis Potosà plant, both of which are located in Mexico.
