Following the arrival of the small electric crossover to Brazil and other South American countries during the first half of the year, General Motors has just officially launched the Chevy Bolt EUV in Chile.
The automaker’s Chilean subsidiary launched the Chevy Bolt EUV earlier this month as Chevrolet’s first all-electric vehicle in the South American country, officially kicking off the brand’s EV strategy for the local market announced a couple of months ago. As such, the company closes the 2023 calendar year by entering the Chilean zero-emission car market with the aim of leading the local expansion of electromobility.
“At GM, we are taking firm steps that lead us towards the future of our main objective in terms of electromobility: to be leaders in the electric car segment in Chile and the region,” said Director of Sales and Operations at GM Chile, Marcus Oliveira. “We have the firm conviction that we are transmitting a strong message reflecting our commitment to the national objectives of promoting electric mobility and reducing the environmental impact of the automotive industry,” he added.
In particular, the Chevy Bolt EUV goes on sale in Chile with a single LTZ variant, unlike other countries in the region where it’s sold in range-topping Premier trim. However, the Bolt EUV LTZ includes a rich set of technology and safety features, as well as advanced OnStar services that make it one of the most comprehensively equippede vehicles in its class.
Mechanically, the Chevy Bolt EUV features a single electric motor mounted on the front axle that develops 147 kW or 200 horsepower and 360 Nm or 266 pound-feet of torque. The electric motor works together with the 65 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, allowing it to achieve a range of 456 km or 283 miles on a full charge, according to the WLTP cycle.
The Chevy Bolt EUV is now available for sale at some selected dealerships in the brand’s extensive dealer network in Chile, where Chevrolet waited for the right conditions to offer the best possible service, with facilities adapted to EVs and well-trained employees. The Bolt EUV LTZ for Chile is priced at 46,990,000 pesos, about $54,250 USD at the current exchange rate.
