General Motors has just confirmed to the local press that the all-new Cadillac Celestiq will arrive next year in China.
The automaker has confirmed that the all-new ultra-luxury Cadillac Celestiq will arrive next year in China, where the production model recently debuted under the umbrella of The Durant Guild at the 2023 Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition – better known as Auto Guangzhou. Cadillac’s flagship sedan will be one of the first vehicles to be sold by the company’s new premium import platform in the Asian country.
In fact, China became the first country outside of North America where the production-ready Cadillac Celestiq made a public appearance – indicating that this country will be one of the most important markets for the vehicle – that seeks to elevate Cadillac’s global image to the highest level. Until now, the Celestiq had only been publicly unveiled at a few select events in the United States.
The all-new Cadillac Celestiq will be sold in China through The Durant Guild, GM China’s new premium import business created to expand the company’s product portfolio in the country with halo vehicles made in the United States. As such, Celestiq units for the Chinese market will be hand-built at the GM Global Technical Center in Warren, Michigan – the only Celestiq production facility in the world.
According to the company itself, the Cadillac Celestiq is the most iconic vehicle ever made by GM, incorporating more than 120 years of Cadillac heritage and representing the brand’s purest expression of design, technology, refinement and drivability. Innovative features like a 55-inch curved display and a fixed-glass smart panoramic moonroof create a unique sensory experience, showcasing legendary Cadillac artistry in a bold fastback design.
The all-new Cadillac Celestiq is expected to officially arrive in China sometime next year, shortly after the start of deliveries in the U.S. market scheduled for the first half of 2024. As in the United States, the ultra-luxury car will be sold exclusively to order and will allow for a high level of customization – so that each manufactured unit of the vehicle is unique.
