The all-new 2025 Cadillac Optiq got its big reveal this past November, debuting Caddy’s latest entry-level, all-electric crossover. Although GM released a pair of photos in conjunction with the model’s debut, we have yet to see the new Cadillac Optiq out in the wild. Now, that’s changing with the following GM Authority photo gallery.
Seen out and about on public streets covered in a thick layer of Michigan road grime, this Cadillac Optiq is finished in gray paint and appears to be more or less production-spec ready, although there are what looks to be strips of black tape added in various locations across the body. This particular model also appears to be an example of the sport trim level given the dearth of brightly colored trim pieces.
Up front, we see Cadillac’s latest all-electric styling cues, with large vertical lighting bracketing a blocked-off, crest-shaped grille and X-shaped fascia design. The lower bumper section is done in black, while thin upper lighting signatures follow the hood line.
The sideview shows off a set of two-tone alloy wheels that match black with silver, while black trim lines the wheel wells and lower body pieces. The door handles sit flush with the door panels. The rear window is also particularly interesting, showing off a layered section of black lines that lend a sense of motion to the design, while also matching the inner graphics in the taillights.
Speaking of the rear lighting treatment, the tail end of the Cadillac Optiq includes multiple tiers of lights, with a large, vertically oriented center stop lamp placed in the rear spoiler, and two sets of vertical lights added along the either side of the rear hatch. The rear badging also reveals that this particular Optiq is a Chinese market model.
For now, the full specs on the Cadillac Optiq have yet to be officially revealed, including performance, estimated range, and the model’s North American production schedule. However, rest assured that as soon as that information is available, we’ll relay it straight to you, so make sure to subscribe to GM Authority for more Cadillac Optiq news, Cadillac news, GM electric vehicle news, and around-the-clock GM news coverage.

Interesting treatment to the rear glass. Overall I like it. Hopefully the windows will be tinted to match the rear doors.
Overall a good looking suv and should be a huge improvement over the XT4
I sure am gonna miss Cadillac. They didn’t deserve to go out like this.
Cadillac is not done yet! Don’t give up. I have a feeling that hybrids will be coming soon to supplement the EV’s.
It is past time for Mary Barra to retire. If she continues the electric course Cadillac will not survive. As a long time loyal customer I will not support the electric car market. When you look on dealers lots it is evident that the Cadillac base does not want to leave the ice either. We were told it would be years before you could buy the LYRIQ. Well were is that waiting list now.
Mary please tell me why you can give the China market the cars that the Americans want.
for years it has been said that Cadillac is going to their primary electric brand before the rest of the portfolio goes EV. buy the gas ones then go buy something else if you care so much. I have 70 people still on a waitlist for them..
I also wish we still sold the CT6/GT4/XT5(the new one that we wont get) 🙁
Mary Barriq is running GM into the ground. Bankruptcy, once again, is just around the corner but everything will be great. Because, Mary will be filing bankruptcy. Cruise and Brightdrop were the warning shots. EV’s will be the end. One EV in each brand would have been too many.
Oh, the sky is falling, the sky is falling. Endless complaining about Mary and Cadillac’s transition to electric.
Reality is, every luxury automaker is planning a similar transition to electric outside of extreme performance vehicles. Apparently those who complain endlessly about Cadillac’s transition would rather see Cadillac dead versus competing head to head with other luxury brands. Best of all, Cadillac EVs are finally competing or exceeding their competitors.
Enjoy buying those Toyotas if you refuse to advance into the future.
“Cadillac EVs are finally competing or exceeding their competitors”
By what metric? Certainly not sales.
Miss Mary keeps saying GM is currently the electric car leader.
But Tesla sells 6 times as many cars.
I made the mistake of trusting Cadillac/GM and got a Lyriq. Worst new car i ever bought. new Cads included, Fleetwood, CTS, SRX, ATS, Escalade Platinum, Corvettes, BMWs, Lexus, Buick, Ford (TBrd) not countless used Cads, so plenty to compare over the last 30 years. If this is what Cad offers in NA market, as many here have noted, GM will not be moving forward, said nicely.
Lyriq, too many problems to list and poor service from Dealers and repair parts waiting for months have not come yet..
Funny it seems there is a split on the Lyriq ownership. As others have taken their orders and besides a few minor issues love their cars.
Any car ownership will depend on a competent dealership anyway. There are those out there that will fix Lyriq issues in days that others take weeks to fix.
a friend got one, same time as me, and his is okay. mine isn’t. it runs, but as noted, lots of poor quality in fit/finish and other problems that come and go, and some not being addressed by parts and the 1 tech that dealer has that is EV trained.
Yikes, that full-on rear end shot looks especially dumpy. There is not much excitement at gm these days. Sad state.
Planning doesn’t mean anyone will be successful! The first quarter is going to be real interesting.
So this is the Caddy versions of the Equinox EV?
Yeah in previous articles GMA stated the first Optiq would be FWD and 210 HP identical to the ‘Nox EV.
Now no info from GMA.
Right now we know very little except that it will be electric (lots of old people are upset with that) and what the exterior will look like. I like the front end which reminds me of the original 1965 Mustang (except this one has a double chin) I also like the striped C pillar. I remember when the original Mustang came out and some people speculated what a Mustang station wagon would look like.
I honestly can’t believe how disappointing & ugly GM vehicles (especially Cadillac) are. These are badly badly designed cars. I am GM’s biggest fan, but my God this is poor.
Well, I’d say this is mostly boring overall, with some really ugly rear windows.
Personally, I’d like to see Cadillac go in a totally different design direction away from the dated art and science thing. They have sort of softened it a little, but wherever they are at now is not great.
Looks very much like a Volvo from the side. I am sure the production models will look better since there will be no tape, etc., on the side. Why can’t GM do some decent hybrids to bridge the gap? And you don’t have to worry about range with one. The all electrics are so very expensive unless you want to buy a shoebox! I’ll keep my ICE GMC Yukon Denali for now!!
The out-of-touch regulations & mandates by Biden & the Democrats are running the American Auto Industry right into bankruptcy. The $9,000,000,000.00 that Biden gave GM two months ago won’t save them. And Mary Barra is changing course every time Biden makes another “gaff”. Dim Dems are leading not justGM; but Ford & Stellantis right down the road to ruin (along with the rest of America’s manufacturing industries!)
Still not a fan of the front end. The fake so called Grille is just waaaaaaay too small.
Looks like it was placed on at the last minute because the original designer forgot about it Lol
It should just not offer the Grille looking part and try something different or it needs to be much bigger.
