2024 GMC Canyon Configurator Live

The 2024 GMC Canyon arrives as the second model year for the latest third-gen pickup, debuting only a few small changes and updates over the preceding, all-new 2023 model year. Now, the latest 2024 Canyon is available to spec on GMC’s website using the official 2024 GMC Canyon configurator.

As was the case for the 2023 model year, the 2024 GMC Canyon is available in four trim levels, starting with the entry-level Elevation, followed by the off-road-oriented AT4 and luxurious Denali. The highly capable GMC Canyon AT4X sits at the top of trim level lineup.

The exterior is available in eight different paint colors, including (relevant paint code listed in parentheses):

  • Deep Bronze Metallic (GXN)
  • Desert Sand Metallic (GTL)
  • Dynamic Blue Metallic (GLT)
  • Onyx Black (GBA)
  • Solar Flare Metallic (GCP)
  • Sterling Metallic (GXD)
  • Summit White (GAZ)
  • Volcanic Red Tintcoat (GNT)

The GMC Canyon exterior design was totally overhauled for the 2023 model year, and the 2024 model year carries over the new look, complete with new exterior dimensions that are wider and taller than those of the second-generation pickup. The interior was overhauled for the 2023 model year as well. New for the 2024 model year is the introduction of an 11-inch Driver Information Cluster (RPO code URF) that is now included as standard on Elevation and AT4 trim levels. Previously, the 11-inch Driver Information Center was not offered on Elevation or AT4 trims, both of which included an 8-inch Driver Information Center instead.

The 2024 model year also introduces the new AT4X AEV Edition package, which includes off-road equipment from American Expedition Vehicles (AEV), such as new stamped-steel front and rear bumpers, a bevy of hot-stamped Boron steel skid plates, a bed-mounted vertical spare tire carrier, AEV wheel flares, 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels wrapped in 35-inch Mud Terrain tires, and optional Multimatic Jounce Control Dampers.

Under the hood, all 2024 GMC Canyon variants cradle the TurboMax turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. The updated GMT 31XX-2 platform provides the underpinnings, while production takes place at the GM Wentville plant in Missouri.

  1. This is a joke! My best friend ordered a Canyon AT-4 in July 2023. After months of waiting, he was informed recently that his truck order was cancelled. He was required to submit an order for a 2024. The dealer a week later told him that his order was on hold since the ordering dealer was given an allocation for a two-wheel drive and a basic Elevation, neither of which came close to his order. So, he continues to wait. In our area, dealer trades are nonexistent, GM is a disaster.

    1. I ordered my 2023 Canyon AT4 in December 2022, received it in June 2023. My dealer is actually a great customer of mine so I dealt with him personally through the whole process. I, too, was very surprised by the process: place order, hope it’s accepted, hope your dealer gets an allocation for what you want, hope it comes in as ordered. And here I thought that ordering was a simple process where you tell GM exactly what you want. What an idiot I was! Mine came in with the tow package which was not part of my order. Thankfully, no big deal as I had strongly considered that option when ordering and in hindsight, I’m glad it has it. Anyway, it became clear to me that the customer has to conform to what GM wants to build, not the other way around (just like being forced into the 4cyl Turbo instead of a proper V6 or V8). What a way to run a company! I swear, some businesses succeed despite themselves. SMDH

      1. I don’t know what people are talking about , when the AT4x was available to preorder I got it on pre order , then a yer later i got a call said it was available to order then I placed my order and 4-5 month later I got my truck at the dealer the way i ordered it , no allocations from the dealer I made my own allocation its called ordering it from the factory not waiting for the dealerships allocation. it was simple and now I have it , it was painful to wait for

  2. GM is not a disaster the Union cause some of this. Colorado sales were up last quarter from a year ago GMC Canyon were down just a bit from previous year. You have to remember dealers put orders in just for stock too and seems dealers who sell a lot are getting more allocations. Which is the norm. Then the strike happened so that backup more building.

So you have dealer orders and then customer custom orders and they are selling them as fast as they can get them to the dealers. Sounds like they are making money for them. They cut 2023 production because of the strike. Try and find a ranger you can’t.

I just bought a ZR2 this past Saturday and they had 3 other people drive it before I did. Wasn’t ready to buy but figure might as well do it since probably wouldn’t get a chance until later in 2024.

Also don’t trust online that they are intransit. After I purchased mine it still showed in transit. If you looking for one keep a eye online and go to the dearler.

  4. Gmc is a joke. You can’t find a canyon on a car lot in nebraska to look at or test drive. Both omaha and lincoln are fairly large cities.i thought someday about buying a canyon but it seems to me they won’t be around much longer

    1. The wheels on this and the Colorado are terrible. The only ones I like are the most expensive Denali trim but even those are trying too hard for the offroad look!

  6. When you drive the canyon thru the car wash, the blowers put a dint in the roof. GM now’s about this. Too bad people who buy this truck, don’t know until after the buy this truck about the problem. I have a friend who bought this truck and went through the car wash and now has a dint in the roof. They are stuck with a truck that they can’t take though a car wash. They only had this truck 1 month.

    1. Wouldn’t you think that the new vehicle warranty would cover this issue?

  7. GM is a complete disaster. We waited 8 months back in 2022 for a 6.2 trail boss special order. GM updates on arrival time to dealer was a farce and non existent. Needless to say, we ended up canceling the purchase. Went to Ford and purchased a 2023 Raptor. Love it so much we gave the 2023 to our son and have just ordered a 2024 Ford Raptor R. GM can kiss my caboose !!!!

  8. Yup, 6 months on order – canceled for the December build date. “Thank You” to the UAW for allowing me to wait at least another 6 months. Dealer says May. I’m saying August.

  10. Comments on last year do not reflect my experience. I ordered a 2024 in December just before production started, and as the plant was still working through some 2023 orders. I was informed of a target production date the week of 1/22, and at the end of that week received confirmation the truck was built. Waiting on delivery now and hope it is more 8-12 week timeframe as I planned for early April delivery. Could be as little as 3-5 weeks. In summary seems pretty good to me considering a new gen introduction complicated by chip shortages and a reasonably long strike.
