Standing as the fifth model year of the first-ever production-spec mid-engined Corvette, the 2024 Corvette is most notable for the introduction of the electrified Corvette E-Ray, which slots between the “base” Stingray and the high-performance Z06 in regard to pricing specifications. Now, GM Authority has learned that the 2024 Stingray can no longer be ordered with an accent package.
GM Authority has learned that the Shadow Gray exterior accent (RPO code EFA) option is no longer available to be ordered for the remainder of the 2024 model year. For context, the Shadow Gray exterior accents extend to the side vents as well as the front and rear grille accents. The option was priced at $995 and offered on all trim levels of the C8 Stingray, but not at all on the C8 Z06 and the C8 E-Ray variants.
Moving forward, the Carbon Flash exterior accents (RPO code EFR) option is equipped as standard affair, while the body-color exterior accents (RPO code EFY) package is still available on the 2024 Stingray as a $995 option.
As a reminder, each of the 2024 Corvette variants offer a unique experience for every type of driver, with the 2024 Stingray is powered by the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine, rated at 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque in standard form. Meanwhile, the 2024 Z06 is highlighted by the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine, rated at 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Finally, the 2024 Corvette E-Ray combines the aforementioned LT2 engine with an electric motor on the front axle to bring total output up to 655 horsepower.
Under the body panels, all C8 Corvette models ride on the GM Y2 platform, while production for the 2024 model year officially kicked off in September 2023 at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

At first I thought some of this was manufactured scarcity. Now I think it’s just manufacturer stupidity.
Have to make room for all the electric vehicles we will be lining up for
The 2024 model year production just started and they are already telling customers the EFA option is not longer available for model year 2024. Here we go again. Can wait to hear what’s next on the chopping block. GM clearly needs to revamp its strategic planning, marketing and supply chain management.
I was thinking that they finally ran out of them. They discontinued the Shadow Gray Metallic paint color about half way through 2021 model year.
Wasn’t this a new for 24 option and the carbon flash was standard or I’m I wrong about this. Seems like most people would prefer the carbon flash anyway
I was amazed at the number of color options available when the C8 was first announced. It seems like a lot to manage. I originally ordered the painted accents, and then rethought my use of $1000. Glad I did not get them. Very happy with a plain, 2021 2LT with Z51 and magride and grateful no constraints so my car came complete.
Skipped the $1000 engine appearance package also, and added GM LED lights over the engine at a cost of $150 from the dealer.
Pretty soon Seats and Tires will be unavailable for the remainder of the year !
Brought to you by the same people who couldn’t deliver those plastic engine cover pieces in Red. I mean, it’s only mid December and they’re already cancelling color accents or warning buyers that some body colors will have their order book closed in January.
Just an awful way for a car company to do business. But this is the new business model; a whole lot of uncertainty and a great restriction in how you can build your vehicle just the way you want it. They want to build it the way THEY want.
I am 1925 on ciocca’s waiting list for Z 06. Probably the most demanded car on the planet and GM won’t build it. I was at plant in July the guide said they ar building 40 a day.
You can bet one thing that will always be available, that is price increases. Maybe not what you want in your car but you can bet it is what they want. They have to pay the CEO somehow no mater how bad the builds are.
Too big to fail? If my small business operated like this I’d be long gone!
Unfortunately GM brass over the years have lost the identity of their vehicles. They have the same vehicle design as every other carmaker. No individual style, no chrome, a lot of flat black paint on vehicles. Very few colors anymore, usually white, black, silver. Super high prices and the quality is not there. Look at the corvette, looks like any other sports car now. They had lots of styles back in the 50s, 60s, now nothing, same year after year. Very sad.
