Simultaneously debuting the first-ever hybrid Vette and the first-ever all-wheel drive C8 Corvette variant, the Chevy Corvette E-Ray was formally revealed back in January as the third C8 configuration positioned between the Stingray and the Z06.
After months of anticipation by eager buyers, production of the E-Ray is now under way after being pushed back several times.
The Corvette E-Ray we’re bringing you today was on display at the 2023Â Detroit Auto Show, wearing a coat of Arctic White (color code G8G) exterior paint that helps make every detail clearly visible. The sports car also boasts a set of Edge Blue full-length dual racing stripes (RPO code DUW), which are an option priced at $1,195.
Among the many visible styling cues of the Corvette E-Ray shown off by this front three-quarters view is the wide body stance borrowed from the Corvette Z06. The front end features a distinctive fascia treatment with nearly gullwing elements connecting the grille to flared bumper intakes below the headlights.
Turning to the profile, the Chevy Corvette E-Ray shows the body-color accents that set it apart from the Stingray, which uses black trim. The door and side panels feature the expected deeply sculpted character lines, along with the sharply contoured side scoop.
Notably, this E-Ray is a Convertible model with the top down, showing off a set of Tension Blue with Twilight Blue Dipped seats (color code HTO) in Napa leather with perforated inserts, available exclusively on the 3LZ trim level.
The Vette rides on a set of 20-inch front and 21-inch rear Visible Carbon Fiber wheels (ROZ) wheels, showing off their unique five-spoke twisted design. Priced at $13,995, this set of rollers is the most expensive among the 2024 Corvette’s wide selection of wheel options.
The back end wraps up with a flared rear bumper and a rear decklid spoiler. Continuing the theme of combining styling cues from both the Stingray and Z06 that flank it in the Vette lineup, the Corvette E-Ray’s quad exhaust tips exit in pairs on either side, rather than being centrally located as on the Z06.
As a reminder, the 2024 Corvette E-Ray is motivated by the atmospheric 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine behind the cabin. This powerplant, which it shares with the 2024 Chevy Corvette Stingray, is paired in the E-Ray with a single front-mounted electric motor and 1.9 kWh battery pack, developing a combined hybrid output of 655 horsepower. The LT2 powers the rear wheels and the electric motor sends output to the front wheels.
The GM Y2 platform provides the underpinnings for the Corvette E-Ray. The E-Ray exclusively rolls off the assembly line at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

I’m far from being the brightest bulb in the box, but I am beginning to think GM Authority writers are running out of things to post/discuss. The auto show in Detroit was in September.. unless I’ve been asleep for 9 to 10 months, we’ve already seen these photos and know about the car and its capabilities. Am I missing something?
It would be better if the wheels were blue or white.
They are Carbon Fiber
God please lose the stripes.
