2024 Chevy Silverado EV 3WT Driving Range Confirmed

The Chevy Silverado EV initially debuted in January of 2022, ushering in an all-new, all-electric iteration of the popular pickup nameplate. Critically, the estimated driving range for the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV has changed significantly since the pickup was initially unveiled. Now, the driving range for the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV 3WT has been confirmed.

According to GM Authority sources, the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV 3WT will be equipped with the 20-module GM Ultium battery (RPO code ETI) that will provide an estimated range of 393 miles with a full charge. GM initially announced that the 3WT would offer an estimated range-per-charge of 350 miles.

Meanwhile, the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV 4WT is equipped with the 24-module GM Ultium battery (RPO code ETN) that will provide an estimated range of 450 miles on a full charge. GM initially estimated range-per-charge for the 4WT at 400 miles, but, as GM Authority covered previously, the EPA boosted that estimate to 450 miles of range back in May of this year.

Of course, it bears mentioning that these estimates are based on ideal conditions, and do not necessarily take into account things like weather conditions, driving style, or payload. To note, the Ford F-150 Lightning has an EPA-estimated driving range of 320 miles per charge, 73 miles less than that of the 3WT and 130 miles less than that of the 4WT.

All Chevy Silverado EV models ride on the narrow-body variant of the GM BT1 platform, the same architecture that underpins the GMC Sierra EV. The GM Ultium battery packs provide juice to GM Ultium Drive motors, with peak output rated at 510 horsepower. Towing capacity could range as high as 20,000 pounds when equipped with the upcoming max trailering package, and 10,000 pounds without the package.

Production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Detroit, with plans to eventually launch production at the GM Lake Orion plant in the future.

  1. The 3wt already is listed at 12500 pounds of towing per the GM Envolve website. That’s a nice jump from the 4wt which has the 10k limit.

  2. I bet that the Silverado EV will beat the Tesla Cybertruck in cargo and towing specifications for a lesser cost.

    1. Chevrolet made a truck to do truck work. They took their time to engineer a proper EV in the 1500 series space, unlike Ford.
      Rivian and Tesla are going after the midsize truck market, like the Ford Ranger and GMC Canyon

    2. $75,000 base price for the entry level work truck. Add the good stuff many non-contractors will want and $100k+ is very likely.

    1. There issue isn’t battery cells. It’s the modules that hold the battery cells.

      1. Yeah currently GM has an over supply of cells and they are beginning to store them while they work through the module production issues.

  5. I love the looks of the 2023 silverados. But this new ev Silverado is ugly to me. I have always been a bow tie fan but I won’t own one of these. I don’t care what it will tow.

  6. Noticed the three “key” words here: “Estimated” and “EPA boosted” !

    At least the author had the common sense to qualify those as only “estimates” ( usually blue sky from the inept EPA ) and state that estimates do not reflect real world conditions like weather (major affect on range for necessary creature comfort) , driving style, terrain and payload.

    Now what do these things weigh ?

  7. Would be great if we could click any of the 300 photos without a warning from Cloudflare that we aren’t allowed to access them. Truck looks great, I wonder what the range will be in cold and towing. Seems pretty good considering the mileage a V8 full size truck.
