The 2024 Cadillac XT6 crossover received a “Recommended” rating for the first time from Consumer Reports, placing third out of nine vehicles in the luxury midsize three-row SUV category, while receiving an overall rating of 72 out of 100 points.
Earlier model years of the XT6, including the 2020 through 2023 Cadillac XT6 crossovers, did not receive a rating because there was insufficient data to calculate a reliability score for them.
The 2024 Cadillac XT6 scored 76/100 in the CR road test, with highlights of the model including the vehicle’s ride, quietness, and transmission operation. Nevertheless, the study also noted that the crossover fell short in several areas, including “disappointing” fuel economy as well as limited premium features and seats with not enough adjustment.
The XT6 is not quite on a par with its competitors, such as the now-discontinued Lexus RX L and the Audi Q7, despite performing well enough to be recommended. Reliability is approximately average for its segment at 43/100, putting the model on a par with the aforementioned Q7 and the 2024 Infiniti QX60.
While data is still scanty for the 2024 Cadillac XT6 and some statistics from the Cadillac brand itself were used to fill in gaps in reliability information, the XT6 earned an approximate 3/5 customer satisfaction rating. The driving experience for the crossover, a measure looking at handling and acceleration along with other factors, is rated at 81/100.
Meanwhile, comfort – which covers ride quality, interior noise, climate control, and seating – was rated at 78/100. The XT6 got marks of just 49/100 for value, but was a winner with its aesthetics, achieving 81/100 for styling. Out of all buyers responding to the study, 61 percent said they would “definitely” buy the Cadillac crossover again, once more approximately average for the segment. The winner was the 2024 BMW X5 with 93 percent of owners saying they would get the model again.
Overall, the Cadillac brand ranked average for reliability, with much less variance between models than other brands, which typically have a mix of high and low reliability vehicles in their lineup rather than average across the board.

Seems to me, that this proves Cadillac can’t get the quality or luxury in line with what it competes against, in order to rank higher in the class
I have a caddy SRX and it is 11 years old and no major repairs at all !
This must really bother CR to write something good about a GM product
Owner of a used 2020 Cadillac XT6, I am a first time owner. This vehicle has a beautiful style, seats are very comfortable. Stereo sounds crystal clear, and when driving, it’s a smooth and quiet ride. Now for the bad parts, rims are very cheap made, it scratches just by driving in the wind. Also the outside of the vehicle is also cheap, scratches just by looking at it. Only has 62,000 miles, have had it service because of the engine light, 4 times for the same problem. Also, for a 6 passenger vehicle, no truck space. I had to install a cargo truck, just so I can have space for anything that might arrive. Engine and throttle are not the best, the response is not smooth and not quick. The mats in the car could be better, the Cadillac seal on the mats needed to be glued to the mat itself. Since it did not come with a tow package, I have to by the parts, and have it installed. So I believe the ratings on this vehicle from Consumer Reports are accurate.
Every body, need to look up carcomplaints it tells the truth on ever car manufacturer on the road – this site will make it right 4 you you may look at your car a little differently enjoy
I purchased a 2024 XT6 Sport. We had it for 2 weeks and 2 days, driving it 611 miles when the transmission failed. All I get from Cadillac is a halfhearted “I’m sorry that you are having this issue” and a blemished Carfax report. I will not purchase another GM vehicle after this.
