2024 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing: Here’s Everything That’s New And Different

The 2024 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing represents the third model year of the high-performance luxury sedan, which made its debut for the 2022 model year. The third model year introduces some changes, and GM Authority is here to tell you exactly what’s new and different.

Model Line

The 2024 CT4-V Blackwing continues to be available as a subcompact four-door sedan in a single trim level.

Mechanical

Mechanically, the 2024 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing continues to be powered exclusively by the twin-turbo 3.6L V6 LF4 gasoline engine rated at 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission, sourced from Tremec, continues as standard, while GM’s ten-speed auto is an extra-cost option. The performance sedan continues to be available exclusively in rear-wheel-drive.

Exterior

On the outside, the 2024 CT4-V Blackwing deletes four exterior colors and replaces them with four new ones.

Deleted exterior colors:

  • Blaze Orange Metallic (GCF)
  • Wave Metallic (GKK)
  • Electric Blue (GMO)
  • Rift Metallic (GRW)

New exterior colors:

  • Velocity Red (G7C)
  • Cyber Yellow Metallic (GCP)
  • Coastal Blue Metallic (GJV)
  • Black Diamond Tricoat (GLK

Rounding out the changes to the exterior is the addition of Gloss Black V-badging nameplate (LPO RIK) as a standalone dealer-installed option.

Interior

Inside, the 2024 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing ditches the Air Ionizer (KEM) feature and replaces it with a pollutant, odor and fine dust air filter (K6L), including and only available as part of the Technology package (CWM).

Driver Assist Technology

No changes are made to the driver assist tech for the 2024 model year.

Packages

And that brings us to packages, where the CT4-V Blackwing sees a whole bunch.

First up is the addition of 20th Anniversary of V-Series Commemorative content, including 20th anniversary grille header decal and a unique cluster wake up animation. This is standard for the 2024 model year.

Additionally, a new CT4-V Blackwing Red Accent Package is added as an LPO-level, or dealer-installed, option. As the name implies, the package includes a bevy of red-themed accents, including red wheel center caps (LPO 5ZE) and decals (LPO SFC), plus black wheel lug nuts (LPO SPY) and black wheel lops (LPO SPZ).

From there, the performance luxury sedan swaps the three IMSA Editions introduced for the 2023 model year for three Mondrian Editions:

The updates and changes described here are specific to the U.S. market and may be different for other markets.

Looking Ahead

We originally expected the 2025 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing to receive a much-needed mid-cycle refresh, which would have brought the updated interior/cockpit introduced for the 2025 CT5 over to the 2025 CT4 range. However, we’ve recently begun to question whether that refresh will actually take place. In fact, it’s currently unclear if the CT4 range as a whole has a future in North America given the nameplate’s dismal sales performance. Here’s to hoping that the CT4-V Blackwing has a future past the 2024 model year.

  1. They put the wrong damn motor in the car is why it’s not selling. And the price is nuts. Put the v8 NA back in (turbo 6 as an option if you insist) and drop the price 8 grand.

Or just be done with it and call it the Camaro 4dr edition.

      1. Hey Alex this is old news so why are you reporting on it now? Im driving a 24 Blackwing and all this info was available like 6 months ago when I placed my order……………

        Reply
        1. Sir, did you pay extra for the ten-speed transmission? If so, did the dealership explain why you buy a 60K performance compact sedan and then pay extra for the transmission? The transmission should be an either, or choice. But then again, you can pay extra for the “CT4-V Blackwing Red Accent Package” and get stickers! Whoa! America nickels and dimes customers. I haven’t heard of BMW charging extra for its colored stickers on the “M” performance packages. Again, the stickers should be an either/or no cost item.

          1. I bought the car with the proper transmission so no it wasn’t extra

            1. Blitz – why are we reporting on it now? Two reasons:
              1. Not all of the information noted here was available six months ago.
              2. It’s still relevant, as the 2024 model will be in production for roughly another six months.

Congrats on your BW, hope you enjoy it!

              1. Alex… don’t even engage these trolls. You wrote an accurate and highly detailed report for a model that’s still in production. I’m one of the managers at a Cadillac dealer and even I didn’t know about the air ionizer being gone. Neither did my staff. Thank you for your work.

  2. Brilliant! They deleted all the awesome exterior colors and replaced them with another red, another black and the Ukraine flag.

  3. As some1 who bought the 2020 cadillac CT4 with the 2.7L Turbo. Don’t get me wrong the car is still fun as all hell. But they are pushing that price tag for the blackwing a bit high. Glad to see they at least kept the satin steel metallic exterior color. I’ll wait a couple more yrs and upgrade for the 2024 blackwing

  4. So the plant will no longer build the Camaro but the two Caddy sedans and EV’s will keep the lines going? That is a recipe for disaster as most of the country does not want ev’s. Big mistake to drop Camaro again.

    1. Yep, that plant is in trouble…
Neither Caddy sedan sells well and Mary just put a hold on GM’s entire EV strategy.
Maybe they rush a new Camaro into production?
UAW cats at that plant need to be watching their backs…
      Could get ugly fast.

  5. Hope we see a mid cycle refresh for ’25.

    1. That’s what I’m hoping for. A CT4-V Blackwing with the updated interior would be great. I seriously hope they don’t leave the CT4 hanging or kill it off early.

  6. This should be the “Base model”…
The non-Blackwing versions are Chevy Grade without $15,000 in option packages.
That would let Caddy build proper “Performance models” with powertrains they already have in-house.
Why RWD only in a country that has this weird thing called WINTER?
Does Caddy think we all live in Cali?

    1. Point-by-point breakdown incoming…

“This should be the “Base model”…”

Once you digest the fact that most buyers do not care about high levels of performance, and are not willing to pay for it either, you’ll then quickly realize just how removed from reality you really are.

“The non-Blackwing versions are Chevy Grade without $15,000 in option packages.”

This is nothing new. Look around, and you’ll see that, when it was available, a well-equipped VW Passat cost roughly the same as a base Audi A3. Similarly, a well-equipped Toyota Camry was roughly the same price as a base Lexus IS or ES. Heck, even a decently equipped Chevy Impala was more pricy than a base Cadillac ATS.

In today’s GM lineup, the only Chevy sedan remaining is the Malibu, and it doesn’t begin to compare to the CT4, even in the CT4’s base trim. Your only argument could be that the Malibu has more space… that’s about the only way that the Malibu could be defined as objectively being better.

“Why RWD only in a country that has this weird thing called WINTER?”

If you’re an enthusiast that’s actually buying either of the Blackwings, you shouldn’t have any issue driving these cars in the winter with a set of good winter tires. I did exactly that when in Colorado for four years with an ATS 2.0T and then an ATS-V, both running Blizzacks.

But to answer your question of “why” the Blackwings don’t offer AWD, here’s what GM told me:
      https://gmauthority.com/blog/2021/02/why-cadillac-ct4-v-blackwing-ct5-v-blackwing-dont-offer-all-wheel-drive-awd/

Meanwhile, doing AWD would have necessitated a pretty substantial revamp of the drivetrain. Given that both Blackwing models have no issues in the sales department, I’m not sure this would have paid off.

  7. LOL! The dudes in this thread, I guarantee, haven’t driven this humble beast. Turbo V6 as an option? Stop it. How about V8 as an option.—or just go buy a Lexus. But if you want an American icon (and yes, I’m not oblivious to the Mexico Assembly), this is the only option. You can cry about the interior as compared to others in this segment, but you will never have more fun. So stop it.

  8. The TT V6 sits behind the front axle, which wouldn’t be the case with a V8, has only 20 hp less than the LT1 and is far easier and cheaper to tune up 200 hp than the LT1 and provides better turn in due to the lighter weight on the front axle.

Now if we are wishing and dreaming it needs more tire both front and back.

    Reply
    1. Sure, the V6 LF4 sits behind the front axle… but how about the turbos and associated hardware?

I’d wager that the LT1 would have seen the same kind of front/rear weight distribution as the LF4, while also being more compact (vertically), and ultimately lighter, resulting in the better turn-in that you mentioned. And let’s not get started on the much sexier sounds and more linear power delivery from the LT1 when compared to that of the LF4.

Regarding tires: I’m not anything bigger than the current setup is necessary. It simply doesn’t need it.

  9. Stop it pkincy, the CT4 blackwing will be twice the car with the LT1 V8, obviously you never drove a LT1 camaro. The SS or the 1LE SS is a much better combo all the way around than the CT4 v Blackwing. Put the LT1 V8 in the CT4 blackwing and have a wonderful car.

  10. I agree, wedge the LT1 into it, keep the supercharged CT5 and then really up the ante with a 5.5 “Flattie” with one turbo making 750HP. Call it the CT5 “ BLACKOUT “, and create a sedan lineup that would make the M fanboys weep in their latte. Go big or stay home!

    Reply
  11. Would not have to wedge the LT1 into the CT4, its the same chassis as the 6th gen Camaro. A drop in for sure.

    Reply
  12. Along with this. The 2025 Regular CT5 – V needs to get rid of the TT V-6 and put in the LT1. or have the LT1 as an option
    That would be fun

    Reply
    1. The LT1 would make a world of difference in the CT5 and I would be in line to buy one.
