The 2024 Cadillac CT4 compact sedan has earned a Recommended rating from Consumer Reports as the first model year of the nameplate for which CR has enough reliability information to provide a rating.
CR research points to average reliability for the 2024 Cadillac CT4, while previous model years, including the 2020 through 2023 Cadillac CT4, offered insufficient data to be assessed against competing vehicles.
Consumer Reports put the 2024 Cadillac CT4 in the Luxury Entry-Level Cars category, where it stands in fifth place. Its overall score is 70/100, putting it at the upper end of average. CR said the CT4 “delighted our testers by providing engaging, European-inspired driving dynamics.” On the downside, the testers said the sedan lacks a fully luxurious feel, with a “cramped” cabin and “boisterous” powerplant.
Other numerical ratings for the model’s results include a positive 78/100 road test score and a rather less-inspiring 45/100 for predicted reliability. This reliability level put it below several other models, including the 2024 BMW 2 Series with a 64/100 score as well as its closest performance equivalent in the comparison, the 2024 Acura Integra with a 47/100 reliability.
The surveys revealed several pros and cons for the 2024 Cadillac CT4. Users found the vehicle’s handling, braking, and front-seat comfort to be pluses, while the negatives included difficult access to the rear seat, lack of space in the back seating row, and very little interior storage space. The sedan’s overall fit and finish came in for praise. Owner satisfaction with the model is expected to be 3/5.
The CT4’s acceleration and transmission were each rated at 4/5, while routing handling achieved a perfect score of 5/5. The Cadillac brand that produces the model is itself rated as average for 2023. However, it differs from other brands in having very consistent quality. Other automakers and brands have some excellent models and others with low scores, but all Cadillac vehicles clustered close to average.
The study used the Auto Reliability Survey to gather information for the 2024 Cadillac CT4 and other models. The research used responses from owners of 330,000 total vehicles and focused on 20 possible problem areas, ranging from the engine and transmission to the quality of infotainment systems.

Well, they changed a lot about the ATS during the redesign, but the wheelbase is identical and interior measurements are not different in any substantial way. With the added overall length, the trunk grew from 10.4 to 10.7 cu-ft. (less than the volume of a small microwave oven). But overall, not an unusual complaint for a lot of compact sports sedans. And no, GM, calling it a ‘sub-compact’ doesn’t make the interior acceptably ‘larger’ by using smaller cars as comparatives in its class…lol.
On the plus side, this is a testament to how good the basic Alpha platform is, and indicative of how good the ATS was for all those years when useability complaints about CUE and touch-sensitive haptic controls drowned out the laurels for ride and handling.
Hmmm. Noisy, cramped and not particularly luxurious doesn’t sound like much of a recommendation for me, especially for a Cadillac. I would probably be looking hard at the 4 cars that finished ahead of it if I was in the market for this style vehicle.
nice car cramp inside
I can’t believe they call this tiny little car A Cadillac. It’s almost like they brought back the Cimarron, but I think the Cimarron was bigger.
Had a 2020 CT4 Premium Luxury but traded towards a 22 CT4V Blackwing. Agree 100% the rear seat access is literally a pain in the head as almost all passengers would inevitably hit it on the way in. Once in it’s OK. While I loved the Blackwing (traded for a C8), I thought the Premium Luxury was an excellent value and a great looking vehicle…always got compliments on it.
I have a ct4v blackwing. I wish gm would have made it awd and raised to hp to 500. It could also use more rear seat space and trunk space. If they want to compete with the bkw m3 competition then update the car
