The U.S.-spec 2024 Buick Envista crossover made its formal introduction this past April, debuting a new, small, premium crossover for the Tri-Shield brand’s lineup. We think the new Envista looks quite stylish, arguing that it could be considered a crossover coupe for the masses given its relatively affordable price point. Now, we’re taking another look at the 2024 Buick Envista with the following GM Authority Live Photo Gallery.
Captured on the floor of the 2023 Detroit Auto Show, this particular 2024 Buick Envista is an example of the Sport Touring (or ST) trim level, offered as the mid-grade model in the new Envista lineup. The full lineup includes Preferred, ST, and Avenir. This particular example is also covered in Copper Ice Metallic paint (paint code G98), a hue that is also available for the Buick Encore GX in conjunction with the 2024 model year.
The Copper Ice Metallic paint looks good on the Buick Envista’s body panels, especially alongside the black exterior accents of the ST trim level. Up front, we see a black mesh grille flanked by a pair of polished trim wings, with an ST badge mounted in the upper right-hand corner of the grille. Buick’s new Tri-Shield logo is mounted front and center on the nose, while slim lighting signatures occupy the upper corners of the fascia, complemented by square lighting elements lower in the fascia.
In the sides, we see black trim around the wheel arches and lower in the skirts, plus black surrounds for the windows. The sideview mirror caps are black as well, making the bright door panels pop even more. The sideview also reveals the sleek crossover coupe body style mentioned earlier. Don’t forget the optional all-black 19-inch 10-spoke wheels, either. Standard spec for the ST is a set of all-black 18-inch wheels.
The rear end finishes it off with horizontally oriented taillight housings that wrap around from the fenders into the hatch. A prominent horizontal styling line on the hatch adds to the visual width of the crossover, while black lower trim for the bumper houses secondary trim in silver.
As a reminder, the 2024 Buick Envista is equipped as standard with the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine. The GM VSS-F vehicle set provides the underpinnings, while production for the North American market takes place at the GM Bupyeong plant in South Korea.

Nice styling but wonder about that 1.2 liter I3 What if any is the engine upgrade?
Much more power due to all the torque in lower range. Much quicker than the 1.4 turbos the new 1.2 turbo replaced.
As far as the engine is concerned. Get in, test it out, if you like it, nothing else matters. The price is as great as you can get, it looks fantastic. Go for a drive and tell us when you get back.
That one looks kind of cool in that color. If I were to go back to ICE, I’d look at this car in only the Avenir trim in order to get everything in the same body color.
I don’t have an issue with the engine/trans they are using. But I do have an issue with the sh**y MPG numbers it has considering the engine/trans combo. My parents Buick Park Avenues back in the 80’s and 90’s with a 4 speed auto and 3800 V6 would get better. They weren’t rated better, but would do better. I just watched a video test of MPG on the sister car to this (Chevy Trax) with the same engine/trans. The best they could achieve was 32. My parents heavier and larger sedans could get 34 if driven really nice.
You’re making the mistake of comparing the EPA mileage with what a particular person gets in their actual use. There’s a guy on YouTube who got over 40 mpg with his new Envista. It depends on how you drive, speed, traffic, and other factors.
Barry: Understood. And you are correct. That is why I watched a YouTube video of a test for MPG on the Trax. Yes it’s not the Envista, but basically the same car and probably less weight than the Envista. The video I watched is from a group that does all kinds of testing on different vehicles for MPG, driving, sound (music) testing. So I trust that the results were accurate.
I have a Chevy Trax Activ trim – driving from Chicago to St Louis back in Oct I got 36 mpg (at least according to the onboard tripometer).
Love My Envista Avenir! Plenty of Power Very Quite Smooth Ride and Excellent Build! Never Took Out For Test Ride, Just Watched You Tube Videos and Then Ordered One In Cinnabar and Grey Leather!
Much more power due to all the torque in lower range. Much quicker than the 1.4 turbos the new 1.2 turbo replaced.
To Many Ad Pop ups Interfering With Making Comments, Very Annoying!!
John: That’s for sure. It’s really gotten annoying. Guess that’s how they stay on here with those things.
And congrats on the new Avenir.
The Avenir at least should have a few missing luxury car features like rear HVAC vents, dual zone climate control and a power passenger seat. Maybe as an optional package.
Great model for Buick but why are the actual brake lights in the bumper and not in the tail lamp housings? It is so confusing when following these or the Bolt EUV. Can this trend please stop!
Looks to much like a revised version of the ford escape from a few years back, instead of a Buick!
Great looking vehicle. I’d be surprised if my 6’2″ height would fit very well though. 😕
Depends on your weight, but i think head clearance may work
I am 6’1″ and fit just fine behind the wheel. Not quite as nice in the rear seats because of the slope of the roof.
This thing will be a complete piece of junk in less than 5 years. 3 cylinder engine?
Cylinders are larger than than the 1.4 turbo 4 cylinder. Time will tell.
looks like every other sporty mini SUV, hoopie deedoo , Dodge Hornet could be it’s sister.
No Plug. No Sale. When are they bringing the Electra E4 to the US?
I never cared one bit about cuv’s; being a 2 door coupe and small pickup enthusiast. But I believe GM and Buick nailed the styling on this one. It will attract 2 door coupe fans who have been shut out of that market save for the Mustang.
Also like the Buick exterior styling over the Chevy’s corporate Camaro-face. Heck, hey Buick, go back into your history and roust up an Envista Grand National package for the sentimental types. It would sell like hot cakes.
And put me down to thinking GM has their Nascar template in the Buick and Chevy twins, being that they still have nothing in the pipeline to replace the Camaro after the 2024 Nascar season is over.
